Job Purpose

Leads, creates, and implements innovative technical activities and solutions in the areas of Business Plan, New Model, and Mass Production to efficiently meet or exceed Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SEQDCM) targets.
This role contributes to HDMAs mission by ensuring optimal manufacturing performance through the development, management, and continuous improvement of production processes, technologies, and team capabilities.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

  • Review and analyze daily production reports to identify improvement opportunities and lead root cause analysis or countermeasure activities.

  • Utilize data analysis and PDCA methodology to lead and support cross-functional problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Monitor and manage equipment and processes to ensure peak manufacturing performance while minimizing operating expenses.

  • Lead and mentor team members and colleagues to build technical expertise and enhance overall capability within the department.

  • Establish priorities and make data-driven decisions to most effectively accomplish business and production objectives.

  • Manage project implementation including schedule, budget, and resources to achieve cost, timing, and quality targets.

  • Test, evaluate, and introduce new technologies and innovations to enhance equipment and process efficiency.

  • Develop and manage investment and expense budgets to ensure achievement of cost targets.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Education

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline (BSME / BSMET / BSEE / BS Manufacturing Engineering).

Required Experience

  • 28 years of relevant engineering experience depending on education level.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard software and data analysis tools.

  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and communication (verbal/written) abilities.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or lead others.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and achieving business plan objectives.

Decisions Expected
  • Prioritize and follow up on daily production performance and countermeasure actions.

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve unit and company initiatives.

  • Lead and evaluate business planning and justification for resource or budget changes.

  • Determine project budgets, schedules, and improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency.

Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Approximately 50% office / 50% manufacturing floor activity.

  • Physical Requirements: Hands-on involvement in troubleshooting and process improvement; requires use of PPE, tools, and gauging equipment.

  • Overtime: 1015 hours per week, with potential weekend or off-shift support as needed.

  • Travel: Approximately 5% (domestic and international).

  • Exposure: Working near oils, lubricants, and manufacturing equipment within production areas.

Job Purpose

Manage and improve production line productivity and quality relative to cutting tool designs to achieve manufacturing characteristic improvements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead tool budget creation, control, and analysis to evaluate cutting tool budget
  • Lead/coordinate daily engineering support troubleshooting tooling problems to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets; develop and maintain tools, tool drawings and holder
  • Perform and coordinate tool analysis - documenting and reporting the results for continuous improvement through the use of sound engineering theory and technology to improve running characteristics (SEQDCM)
  • Coordinate the development of cutting tools, tool holders, and machining process for new model, capacity up, and new technology implementation
    Provide technical support for internal tool setup and tool regrind processes
  • Support line side trial runs during tool test and new models to ensure quality and delivery is achieved
  • Lead collaborative meetings & negotiate with customers/suppliers of all levels & capabilities
  • Communicate and present technical issues and tool reports to audiences of all backgrounds and levels
  • Work with production, new model, machining, product development and other engineering to ensure balanced processing occurs
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Develop, manage and execute Business Plan activities in a timely manner

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (e.q. Mechanical, Electrical)

Minimum Experience:

  • 2-8 years of experience in equipment engineering

Decisions Expected

  • Develop tool process plans which directly impacts line characteristics (SEQDCM)
  • Evaluate areas of tooling loss to develop future business plan activities
  • Evaluate new model part features for best processing methods which impact line characteristics

Working Conditions

  • 40% Office environment & 60% Production Floor implementing projects and/or countermeasures
  • 1-2 day trips approximately 3 times per year. Potential overseas travel for 2-4 weeks at a time with New Model

Job Purpose:

The primary role is the operation of dynamometers to conduct powertrain durability and performance testing. The testing process includes the initial setup of powertrain products (Transmission, Rear Differential, Transfers), installing test equipment, managing data acquisition systems, performing periodic checks during the test, powertrain disassembly, and creating detailed report summarizing test results for the powertrain approval process.



Key Accountabilities:

Perform powertrain dynamometer testing guaranteeing test conditions & guidelines and understanding test purpose.

Manage data acquisition equipment to ensure accuracy of ECM data collected, interpret data to ensure proper function of the powertrain and test equipment.

Perform all data collection, product maintenance, and evaluations guaranteeing adherence to test guidelines.

Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues with test related equipment and powertrains and participate in the problem-solving activities.

Upon test completion, disassemble powertrain product and complete component analysis based on test viewpoint and perform preliminary assessment of Test data and components.

Support maintenance of test equipment to assure proper function.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Associate's degree in Engineering with 2 years of experience

Co-op experience preferred

Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, or Catia



Working Conditions:

Work environment is typically within a testing laboratory at dynamometer workstations

Workload requires approximately 5 hours of overtime/week with some scheduled weekend shift requirements

Job Purpose
