Position Summary
Plant Electricians will use their knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and solve electrical controls problems on existing equipment/processes while maintaining all company safety standards. The Plant Electrician will be called upon to assist and work closely with Engineering Dept. to continuously improve equipment and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
250 VDC
480 - 600 VAC 3phase
2300 VAC 3 phase
4160 VAC 3 phase
13,800 VAC 3 phase
Again these voltages depend on the facility and level of training required.
Industrial type electrical work.
- Power distribution switchgear breakers and transformers.
- Motor control and power circuits controlling motors ranging from fractional to several hundred horsepower.
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMI (Human Machine Interface, controls systems through virtual video displays).
- Instrumentation devices to sense or measure temperatures, flows, pressures, speed, level, acidities, calibration, etc.
- Overhead bridge cranes.
- Electrical Motor driven pumps.
- Hydraulic drive motors and pumps.
- Belt or Screw conveyors.
- Large blowers and fans.
- Large mixers and fans.
- Standard hand tools (screwdrivers, ratchets, sockets, hammers etc.)
- Electrical testing tools (Multimeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, insulation tester, etc.)
- Communication line testing tools.
- Drills, saws, bandsaws, conduit bender, threader, wire/cable puller etc.
- Electrical theory.
- Electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ladder logic.
- Trouble shooting electrical systems and their repair.
- Motors and generators.
- Variable Frequency Drives.
- Some network communication.
What we are looking for
An Associate's degree in a related field or 3 years of an appropriate mix of training, education, and experience; with progressive employment experience in Electrical Maintenance and Industrial Controls.

**Shift Schedules:**
+ **1st Shift:** Monday - Thursday, **5:30 AM - 4:30 PM** (4-day workweek with occasional overtime)
+ **2nd Shift:** Monday - Friday, **2:30 PM - 11:00 PM**
+ **Rotating Shift (Starting October):** **12-hour rotating night shift, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM** Must be available to work **every other weekend** _Candidates must be flexible and available for rotating shift work starting in October._
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Set up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging and manufacturing equipment
+ Perform fault-clearing and resolve stoppages on automated lines
+ Maintain machine uptime and meet performance metrics (OEE)
+ Dispense raw materials, complete material reconciliation, and perform line clearance
+ Complete sanitation procedures and support general packaging operations
+ Follow **Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)** and **applicable CFRs**
+ Use **Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)** to monitor equipment and respond to alarms
+ Utilize **SAP** and **electronic batch records** to track inventory and production data
+ Execute equipment inspections and create work orders using **Maximo**
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements
+ Train other employees on equipment use and standard operating procedures
+ Participate in daily shift meetings and ensure continuous component availability
+ Safely handle materials, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance
**Qualifications:**
+ **High School Diploma/GED** with **2+ years of work experience** **OR** Associate's Degree with **6+ months of work experience** **OR** Bachelor's Degree
**Preferred Candidate Profile:**
+ **1-2 years of experience operating packaging equipment**
+ Prior experience in **pharma or regulated manufacturing**
+ Familiarity with **SAP** and **electronic batch records**
+ Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
+ Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Additionally, a relocation stipend is offered in the amount of 5,000 if necessary. Student must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the internship to be eligible for the relocation stipend.
