- Microsoft word, excel & AutoCAD skill.
- Knowledge/experience with Kanban, Kaizen, pull production, manual assembly, consumer product manufacturing, vendor relations preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The Engineer would be focused on the creation and maintenance of the plant wide labor routings/standards, as well as being tasked with being the main point of contact for all BOM updates for the facility (creating PCRs, following through to implementation, and conducting BOM audits). This role will work in conjunction with Operations Management, Finance, and Engineering to ensure cost accuracy as it relates to earned labor and BOM accuracy.
Provide technical assistance to all manufacturing departments regarding the quality and / or performance of machinery, tooling, fixture, gages, etc
Serve as liaison between Production and Engineering departments by developing engineering change notices and process specifications pertaining to manufacturing processes and material specifications.
Responsible for analyzing, evaluation, and establishing the plant and workstation layouts to insure the most efficient operating conditions.
Develops and maintains work measurement analysis based on MYM, Most, Time Study, or Ease.
Recommends and justifies most efficient use of existing production equipment.
Provide new equipment justification based on labor and material savings.
Responsible for the manufacturing process of new and existing products, including: ergonomic assessment, productivity improvements, manufacturability, and cost improvements.
Specify and recommend new equipment, processes and tooling both during the engineering cycle and post design stages of implementation.
Travel by airplane and/or drive rental or company automobile to all company facilities, vendor, or seminars and expositions.
Perform any assembly operation including material handling and machining operation in order to establish accurate costing standards and to train and instruct hourly associates.
Assist incoming inspection in the disposition of rejected materials.
Monitor and make recommendations regarding improvements on equipment, machinery, processes, etc
Operate a personal computer to compile incentive standards, record storage and project evaluation.

About the role
This role is responsible for developing a Quality Control unit aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards. It involves building a sustainable departmental structure by evaluating resource needs and implementing training matrices, proficiency assessments, and succession planning to ensure long-term team capability. Testing must be performed according to a defined schedule and executed using written procedures that are either benchmarked or based on industry-validated methodologies. Additionally, the role oversees the evaluation and control of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods under a positive release system to support business needs.
Key responsibilities
+ Develop, modify, and approve laboratory procedures that define standardized ways of working.
+ Audit current test methods to ensure alignment with industry best practices and compliance with written procedures.
+ Create a training roadmap for both existing staff and new hires.
+ Benchmark laboratory operations against ISO 17025 standards and address any identified gaps.
+ Assess laboratory costs to determine the most effective balance between internal and external testing.
+ Explore alternative testing methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in material evaluation.
+ Manage staffing to support 24/7 laboratory operations.
+ Oversee the timely release of materials in accordance with defined schedules.
+ Lead laboratory investigations as needed.
+ Support plant-level investigations when required.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure appropriate sampling and testing of raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
+ Implement process capability evaluations by leveraging quality control data and available systems to establish internal process parameters and investigate out-of-trend data.
Qualifications and skills
Experience
+ Minimum of 5 years in a quality control leadership role.
Education
+ BS degree in a science-related field.
Key Competencies
+ Solid working knowledge of GMP, Microbiology, GLP, Hygiene controls, Validation, and HACCP principles.
+ Proficient in IT-based applications such as LIMS and SAP.
+ Ability to assess pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing for compliance with established regulations.
+ Capable of effectively training plant personnel in excipient principles and ISO standards.
+ Skilled in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Able to influence change through indirect leadership.
+ Experienced in writing SOPs and work instructions.

Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $64,479 to $105,272 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
