Job Description Summary

As a member of the automation team this individual will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of assembly equipment to assist our fastener assembly group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the build and de-bug of assembly machinery and systems.

Job Description About the Role:

You are a member of the production scheduler team within the Round Lake site. As the Manufacturing Scheduler, they will create and update production schedules for the Filling, Inspection, and Packaging areas. How you will Contribute:

  • Establish and maintain schedule adherence measures to drive improvement.
  • Manage the JD Edwards Work Order process (opening, closing, lot number assignment, etc.).

  • Perform other support activities for production needs as necessary.
What you bring to Takeda:
  • High School Diploma or GED plus 5+ years of related experience OR bachelor's degree in science, engineering or other related technical field and 2+ years of related experience.
  • General knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and unit operations preferred.
  • Math and computer skills (Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Job Description

Hands-on technician to assist manufacturing engineers with addressing equipment, tooling, and programming needs to reduce costs and improve part process on fans, wheels, blower packages, and corresponding component parts. Additionally, to provide support to: troubleshooting production equipment, continuous improvement projects, and confirming rates/operations in routings, maintaining records in the ERP system. Will report to Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor.



Responsibilities:

  • Under technical direction, troubleshoot and analyze tooling problems and implement corrective actions for high quality, efficient manufacturing solutions.
  • Help identify required tools, jigs and fixtures, or other new or special equipment required for new production or improvements to existing production lines.
  • Create tooling documentation by reverse engineering tooling using both manual measurements and 3D scanning
  • Perform tooling detail and jig and fixture design
  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models
  • Use CNC software to program cutting paths, feeds and speeds as appropriate for a variety of tool steels and program machines accordingly
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Loading and clamping raw materials into the CNC machine, indicating the part to be machined, homing the machine and loading tool holders into the carousel in preparation for executing CNC programs
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure parts meet design specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines and programs as they arise
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening



Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Experience with manufacturing data analysis.
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude of general machinery.
  • Proficient in Solidworks or similar 3D modeling package.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • ERP system experience desirable
  • Strong Excel skills desirable
  • Experience with fiber optic laser programming desirable

Shift timings: There are two first shift work schedules available to work.
  • Group 1: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.

Job Description:
  • The manager is not looking for candidates with warehouse experience. He is interested in candidates who have experience handling syringes, vials, or needles such as caretakers, medical assistants, pharmacy techs, etc.
  • Experience handling syringes, vials, or needles, labeling, kit assembly experience
  • Labeling individual syringes/vials with patient numbers and placing into individual bags/cartons.
  • Placing tablets or capsules into bottles and labeling the bottle with individual patient numbers.
  • Small kit assembly, such as; placing IV bags and syringes into small cartons and labeling with individual patient numbers.
  • Labeling bottles, syringes, cards, and cartons.
  • Kit assembly.
  • Packing containers into corrugate.
  • Filling bottles and blisters using semi-automatic equipment.
  • Performing quality checks of documentation, drug product, and commodities.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties, and sanitizing workstations.

What You'll Do

As the Booster Manufacturing Operator, you will efficiently set-up, fill, inspect and package all Cast Booster products. The operator will assure safe and timely processing of PETN to supply the demand of booster operations with respect to plant and site specific safety rules and quality standards. Other duties will include:

  • Manufacture a quality Booster product
  • Responsible for properly stocking manufacturing areas and preparing product for shipping.
  • Set up canisters on specific tooling, pouring hot pentolite into canisters and moving carts into cooling tunnels.
  • Melt down process of transferring melted TNT/Triton from the pre melter into main pots. Will be required to add PETN to main pots per specific formulations, and monitoring the process per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Will be loading empty plastic or corrugated canisters onto pallets.
  • Will be cleaning and packing finished product into corrugated boxes for shipping. Stamping Canisters will be required
  • Must drive a van/box truck to transport product, prepare, operate and unload centrifuge.
  • Must complete proper documentation and balances while maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Promote implementation of industry best practices, pursue the elimination of waste and support initiatives in manufacturing.
  • Focus on improving safety and quality and minimize the impact to current production
  • Actively participate in a partnership with Maintenance to problem solve safety issues and improve machine up time.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred - on the job training is provided
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively verbally
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, bend and walk through the entire shift. Must be capable of lifting up to 58 lbs. and push/pull 83 lbs.
  • Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, face shield, Tyvec, sleeves, gloves, coveralls, safety harness) as required by site specific requirements
