Cooking Solutions Lead
Location: Lake in the Hills, IL
Schedule: Monday - Friday 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Compensation: $17.00-19.00 /hr plus $.50 shift differential
AFC is seeking a skilled Cooking Solutions Fabricator Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting workers in the fabrication of specialty lightweight food belts and fabric pieces in the Quick Serve Restaurant line of business. The ideal candidate should have experience in operating heat sealing machines and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Works at different workstations as production needs require and as directed by the supervisor.
- Good working knowledge of quality control and attention to detail.
- Maintains work area, lightly cleaning as necessary.
- Oversees the daily activities required to process the current production jobs, ensuring safety throughout the process
- Promotes a positive team environment.
- Suggest process improvements and be a change agent, following through when change is necessary
- Ensures the department's work environment and work processes are safe, training employees in the company's established processes
- Escalates any safety, quality, production or any issue that impacts production to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Support, clearly communicate, and enforce company policies and initiatives
- Correctly completes all inventory transactions in the ERP system.

The main responsibility of this position will be to drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. This is a hands-on role that will support the manufacturing processes by driving the attainment of goals and KPI's through working with Plant Leadership. Needs to be self-motivated, energetic leader who will recognize areas needing improvement, implement effective solutions, and provide training to guide positive changes in plant processes and procedures leveraging the ITW Toolbox.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Develop, test, and implement process adjustments and/or new manufacturing techniques to reduce manufacturing costs and waste, and to improve safety, product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and machine reliability.
+ Lead change through facilitating USa Events, writing standard operating procedures, and training key production employees on new work procedures and processes.
+ Utilizing ITW Toolbox training, identify and lead changes using 80/20, Inlining, USa, Product Line Simplification, and Market Rate of Demand tools as appropriate.
+ Provide key troubleshooting on dies, tooling, and machine parts to improve production processes.
+ Train and monitor operators on proper die setup/changeover techniques.
+ Design new parts to improve machine performance.
+ Understand machine capabilities for new product development and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing processes.
+ Revise and develop prints for current tooling and production part using CAD/Solidworks.
+ Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to achieve maximum efficiency.
+ Perform capacity planning and provide solutions to meet continued growth. Manage capital projects from quoting/approval stage through training & implementation.
+ Support maintenance in root cause analysis, strategies to reduce mechanical downtime, and drafting and implementing preventive maintenance practices.
+ Mentor and support the professional growth of fellow engineers and cross-functional team members by sharing technical expertise, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across operations.
+ Creating and maintaining business relationships with suppliers, vendors and contractors.
+ Perform other tasks and functions as directed for the benefit of the business.
**Job Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering Required; Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred
+ 2-5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environment
+ Knowledge and application of design, engineering and technology, computers and electronics, technology design, and problem solving
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and /or SolidWorks CAD software
+ Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Automation, and Capital Project

About this role:
iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Intake Operations for our Deerfield, IL location. This position will manage the team who processes device returns for data extraction. This role includes the oversight of domestic Intake Operations for two shifts as well as supporting our International Intake Operations team. The Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for Intake Operations to meet business needs. The Manager will act as advisor to Intake Leads aiding in operations and resolving technical and non-technical problems.
Specific job responsibilities include:
* Planning and directing the Intake Operations to meet company goals for quality, productivity, and safety in compliance with medical device regulations.
* Building and maintaining interdepartmental relationships with Human Resources, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Customer Care.
* Supporting New Product Introduction to Intake as it relates to Intake applications tools/equipment.
* Developing and implementing cost-effective alternatives and improvements overall Intake processes.
* Managing Intake Operations budgets by Cost Center (Direct Labor, Materials & Overheads).
* Ensuring proper staffing levels, efficiency, and quantity, to meet customer requirements.
* Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating a safe, efficient, and fun working environment.
* Fostering a collaborative, open and boundaryless culture of ownership and accountability
* Ensuring that all employees receive adequate training, devices are processed within Intake specifications, and that all SOP's, Work Instructions and Guidelines are appropriately enforced.

* Medical Device, Pharma, or Biotech experience; thorough understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
* Proven track record of leading a team to consistently deliver high-quality products/services.
* Demonstrated leadership skills; clear examples of motivating, influencing, and developing team members at all levels.
* Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate complex information to all employee levels, and to set clear expectations.
* Experience with lean manufacturing (or similar) principles.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
