As the Lead Manufacturing Specialist, you will be responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
+ Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
+ Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
+ Direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Direct reports include manufacturing engineering team for product lines
+ Safety-drive culture for behavior-based safety engagement and lead the teams on the product line to engage in identifying safety hazards/risks to produce safe working environment
+ Take actions on process improvement and understanding product line FTY/CPK
+ Prioritize actions around deviated material to work solutions to return nonconforming hardware to production
+ Manage engagement across multiple teams in event of quality escape to customer and drive RCCA actions
+ Responsible for product line health to support on time delivery, work with the teams to understand bottlenecks, and recovery plans to customer delivery needs
+ Data driven problem solve around finance systems and balance of multiple factors to reduce part cost, drive project deck to reduce cycle times to reduce production costs, and work actions around losses reduction
+ Utilize lean principles for standard work, daily management, operator balance, 3P, work grouping, and work with the teams on the lines and other cross functional teams to drive new technology, improve process cycle times, and lead daily kaizen actions
+ Mentor and baseline standard work for engineering team and leverage best practices from internal experts
+ Drive accountability to say/do and utilize personnel to support metrics with clear ownership assignment and timing to completion
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing, engineering, CNC machining technology experience)
+ At least 3 years of additional manufacturing, engineering, and/or CNC machining technology experience

The FLIGHT DECK Leader will be responsible for driving lean transformation and continuous improvement across manufacturing engineering operations, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK operating model. + Learn and understand state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing,
+ Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or overall engine assembly,
+ Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and the application of statistical controls
+ Ensure safe work conditions via Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives
+ Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and stable operations in our increasingly complex and demanding environment
+ Supporting delivery efforts for sourced components by working with our shops and suppliers while building project management skills, negotiation skills, and business acumen
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale without rounding
+ Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program (accepted majors are listed below)
+ Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations
+ Reliable transportation, as many of our sites do not have public transportation available

Benefits:
Pay rates for this position begin at $20/hour and increase for each undergraduate year completed. Relocation support and housing assistance is available for those who relocate to a new city.

- Performing control and containment of non-conforming products or materials

- Utilizing data analysis to trend/chart material and product quality incidents with the intent to collaborate cross-functionally to address root causes and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Applying established sampling/inspection plans and procedures, perform analytical evaluations to monitor quality attributes to meet specified requirements.
- Performing moderately sophisticated tasks and analyses with minimal direction demonstrating proficiency with a range of techniques.
- Performing Factory Quality Assurance Audits, including QMS and CC&S audits.
- Verifying/Calibrating of laboratory & manufacturing equipment and adjust accordingly within a predefined and limited protocol.
- Documenting, analyzing & reporting test results and communicate to QA Management and Manufacturing.
- Proven ability to develop, document and validate new WI's or improve existing documentation.
- Moderate understanding of Qualification process.
- Engagement with Integrated Work System and utilizing tools to identify and drive out losses.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Science OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of Manufacturing or Quality Assurance Experience
- Solid Understanding of Quality Systems
- Knowledge of basic statistical methods and analysis

We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Technician at US Smokeless Tobacco in Hopkinsville, KY . The position will work in support of the manufacturing process using validated techniques and quality tools to monitor and inspect processes and packaging operations. You will also perform laboratory procedures, inspect products, measure process performance, and record data. This position will be a 1st shift position.
What you will be doing:
- Utilize established sampling/inspection plans and procedures to perform analytical evaluations and monitor quality attributes in order to assure compliance to specified requirements.
- Document, analyze, and report test results as well as communicate to QA Management and Manufacturing personnel.
- Assess data for compliance to specifications and assure the initiation of remedial actions for potential out-of-control conditions and deviations.
- Verify/calibrate laboratory and manufacturing equipment. You will adjust accordingly within a pre-defined and limited protocol.
- Provide training and mentorship for contractors and FQA personnel
- Associate degree from a two-year college in Science/Technology/Engineering or 5 years of relevant work experience.

- Certified Quality Technician or Certified Quality Auditor is helpful but not required.
