**Job Summary:**

+ Fixture design experience is preferrable.
+ Understanding of lean manufacturing principals is required.
+ Ability to implement improvements.
+ Possesses strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
+ Ability to understand part drawings and how to implement changes to improve manufacturability.

Position Summary
Our Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for advanced line support to maintain production performance, site capital project management, supporting engineering in major initiatives and new product development, and leading reliability & maintenance strategy and education for the plant. Overview
Assembler will be working on assigned production line and will be required to follow SOP for specific job assignment. Measure, cut and assemble door units. Assist a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. The assembler will either work on Patio Stock, Interior Stock, or Entry Stock work areas. Works under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities
- Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
- Ensure materials meet quality expectations
- Palletize, wrap, and label units as needed
- Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Verifies that components are being placed in the correct position per SOP
- Repeats tasks until entire door stack is complete
- Cleans up work area when shift ends
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Strong analytical skills & Knowledge of all door components
- Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, Square
- Required to stand and work for 8-10 hours per day
- May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task
- Read and understand bill of materials
- Due to the open environment of the facility, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold
- Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch and have basic math skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities
- Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service
- Follow all operational and safety SOP's as written
- Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed
Qualifications
- Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required
- 1-2 Years in the field or related area
Pay:
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $18.00 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Vandalia and may not be applicable to other locations.
