Summary:

As a Quality Control Inspector, you are responsible for ensuring that are products are the best that they can be for our customers. You will perform product inspections of medical devices and components. You will report non-conformances and control non-conforming product until a disposition is authorized. Working closely with Shipping, Receiving and Production Teams to ensure product integrity will be essential to your success. The primary product lines you’ll oversee include our sturdy medical devices, ranging from canes to wheelchairs, in-home hospital bends and everything in between. These products are critical to the lives of our customers and you’ll be a part of the team by driving best-in-class metrics in Safety, Quality, and Service.

Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday) - On-site

Hourly pay rate: $26.45

Main Activities:

• Inspecting incoming products from both international and domestic suppliers using established methods and tools.
• Verifying the output of work orders and rework (quality control) work orders meet quality requirements.
• Entering and maintenance of data into spreadsheets.
• Completion of documentation as required by the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Assist in creating work guidelines for rework (quality control) work orders with Production Manager.
• Utilizing SAP to capture information about inventory and inventory status, and product movements.
• Maintaining QC areas and equipment.
• Check for proper safety measures while working.
• Performing other Quality Control related duties as may be required
• Develop an attitude and an environment of continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned

Your Education and Experience:

• H. S. Diploma or equivalent
• Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel and Word.
• Thorough knowledge of quality control inspection techniques and methods.
• Ability to use common measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, plug gauges, thread gauges, tape measure) to accurately perform inspections.
• Basic knowledge of FDA QSR, cGMP or ISO Standards.
• Understanding of digital photography with the ability to incorporate images into MS Word or MS Excel documents.
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes such as welding, punching, injection and blow molding, painting and assembly.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a quality control inspector performing incoming or receiving inspection, preferably in a regulated medical device environment.

Preferred but not Required:

• Knowledge of durable medical equipment.
• Excellent mechanical abilities.
• Experience in dealing with imported mechanical products.
• Two-year degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or quality management.
• Four-year degree of any type is preferred.
• CQE (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer), CQT (ASQ Certified Quality Technician or CQA (ASQ Certified Quality Auditor).

Your Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Performs activities in a warehouse environment. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust.

**Material Planning & Scheduling:**
+ Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) to support production schedules and customer demand.

**Execution & Coordination:**
+ Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
+ Address material shortages, delays, or quality issues to minimize disruptions to production.
+ Coordinate with commercial team to execute S&OP planning horizon
**Process Improvement:**
+ Identify opportunities to improve material planning and execution processes using FLIGHT DECK lean principles.
+ Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance.
**Supplier Management:**
+ Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
+ Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in the supply chain.
**Data Analysis & Reporting:**
+ Analyze material usage, inventory trends, and production forecasts to make data-driven decisions.
+ Prepare reports and metrics to track performance against key objectives (e.g., Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost - SQDC).
**Team Leadership:**
+ Lead and mentor a team of material planners and coordinators.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
**Required Qualifications** **:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years material planning, supply chain management, and/or production scheduling experience).
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in material planning, supply chain management, and/or production scheduling.

Support new initiatives and productivity targets for given manufacturing processes. Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

+ Leads projects of moderate scope for existing families of production
+ Coordinates cross-functional teams to execute and document the manufacturing launch of new/legacy products
+ Supports the development and optimization of manufacturing processes required to accurately and efficiently make spinal implants, from raw material to final cleaning and shipment
+ Develops and completes manufacturing documentation (pFMEA, control plan, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans)
+ Drives machine/equipment efficiency thru cycle time reduction, waste elimination, tooling improvements, and changeover reductions
+ Performs product/process analysis and troubleshooting for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
+ Designs, develops, tests, sources, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
+ Supports design for manufacturability analysis with CNC Programmers and Quality Engineers, and provide input to Development (Design) Engineers

**Qualifications:**

+ Experience in 21 CFR 820 and/or ISO 13485 regulated environment

You will be supporting a variety of government programs that require product design and development knowledge. This role will require client interactions with project teams in different meetings to deliver effective client solutions. You'll drive automation techniques and testing of new systems to optimize production capabilities. Perform and review design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA). You'll interface with manufacturing suppliers to lead APQP activities perform accurate documentation and presentation of technical data.
