The Pencader Plant is the leading site for this DuPont business, with connections and influences for our other business sites globally. The business sells products in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, and oil and gas industries.
This role will have responsibility for laboratory activities that include testing to customer specifications and supporting product and process development at the manufacturing site.
This position will report to the Pencader Quality Manager.
This position is required to be in-person at the plant 5 days a week. There is no option for hybrid or remote work.
**Responsibilities:**
Process owner for Customer Quality Testing including customer specifications and round robin testing. Includes the coordination of production, machining and testing of required products.
Support for Manufacturing Technology Engineers and Application Engineers at multiple Vespel® sites
Ability to gather and analyze complete data sets Project Coordination for:
+ New product qualification testing
+ Product recipe and raw material change qualification testing
+ New process change qualification testing
+ Proprietary equipment qualification
+ Test sample preparation
+ Tribological testing (wear and friction Falex))
+ Outside laboratories and machine shop testing
+ Multiple sister-plant sample testing
Knowledge and Experience to perform the following test methods:
+ Tensile properties
+ Specific gravity
+ Coefficient of Friction (Falex) with multiple test scenarios
+ Deformation Under Load
+ PV Limit (Falex) with multiple test scenarios
+ Environmental attack
+ Dimensional stability
+ Rockwell hardness
+ Dye Penetrant Inspection
**Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated knowledge of lab analytical instrumentation including preventative maintenance and routine equipment calibration
+ Familiar with MS Excel and other statistic software (MiniTab, JMP.)
+ At least 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
+ Bachelor's Degree in associated field preferred (engineering, chemistry, etc.)

**What to expect:**
The Manufacturing Technician 1 expected to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot complex equipment and activities in order to ensure production meets all requirements of the area. Works with engineers on set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. **What we expect:**
Manufacturing Technicians will be expected to apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Normally follows established procedures on routine work and can work independently with little to no supervision on these routine and moderately difficult tasks within scope of training. Able to make process decisions within area of training, requiring instructions only on new assignments. Recognizes the need for adaptation and flexibility partners with senior level technician or Team Lead in decision making process. Works collaboratively with manufacturing associates, engineering, quality, and leadership to execute on production requirements. Supports engineering experimentation and operational improvement initiatives as requested. Participates on teams to identify opportunities for improvements within production area. May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.

+ Consistently able to meet standard cycle time for production.
+ Read and interpret schematics and blueprints required to ensure proper calibration of equipment.
+ Able to apply working knowledge of test equipment required within Operations area independently.
+ Report all non-conformances to Team Lead or Supervisor and complete NCEs as appropriate. Review non-conforming materials for accuracy.
+ Ensure that processes are developed and executed in a manner which supports all Hologic Quality Standards.
+ Perform root cause investigations with Operations team utilizing intermediate troubleshooting tools.
+ Perform process validations as required and suggest process improvements to Team Lead or engineering team.
+ Trained to execute 3-4 roles within the Operations team.
+ Ability to be certified as a Subject Matter Expert for 1+ roles within the Operations team.
**Education & Experience**
+ Minimum of High School diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or Associate Degree

The annualized base salary range for this hourly role is $38,5,000-$57,800 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
