Key Responsibilities

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

The pay range for this position in Murrysville, PA is $89,000 to $142,000.

We are ISO certified and the Quality team ensures compliance with Fulmer's (Wabtec) quality standards and is instrumental in furnishing our customers with a quality and reliable product. The Inspector Role will report directly to Quality Manager. This position is a Monday through Friday, dayshift, on site position requiring occasional overtime.
_Duties and Responsibilities:_
+ Inspection for compliance to quality and engineering requirements by confirming specifications, drawings, BOMs, and visual inspections of incoming materials, FAI material, In-process production, and Finished product.
+ Use of automated measuring equipment such as CMM, Mitutoyo and FARO ARM.
+ Authority to quarantine non-conforming product and release approved/passed material to inventory/production/shipping departments.
+ Communicates approvals and rejections to the vendors and purchasing.
+ Maintains quality records and company owned inspection equipment including IMTE Calibrations of gages.
+ Creates Non-conforming reports.
+ Assist in corrective action problem solving utilizing 8-D format including techniques such as 5Y's, cause & effect etc.
+ Adhere to Wabtec Code of Conduct.
+ Other duties as assigned
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
**The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $ per hour.**
_Minimum Qualifications:_ (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years minimum quality inspection experience required.
+ Possess basic math skills, and ability to read and Interpret drawings.
+ Must have experience setting up and using both manual and programmable CMM and FARO ARM equipment
+ CMM Programming experience is desired
+ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_
+ Must be self-motivated and a team worker.
+ Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
+ Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
+ Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, , go-no-go gauges, visual comparator and hand tools.
+ Proficient in using measuring devices, interpreting drawings and National/International standards and specifications.
+ Gage Calibration and Blueprint reading
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Previous experience in a machining role is desired
+ Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Industry Standards and Quality Sampling Plans (AQL).
+ Knowledge in Process /capability Studies-Indices' (Cp & Cpk).

Job Description

The Quality Control Specialist serves as a key member of the Quality Control department for the remedial action team for its Shallow Land Disposal Area site in Parks Township, PA, east-northeast of Pittsburgh. This position supports the Contractor Quality Control System Manager (CQCSM) in implementing the Quality Control program and ensures subcontractor performance is tracked to meet project needs. This position reports directly to the CQCSM.
Position Description
Responsible for assisting the CQCSM in implementing the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) System.
Has authority to recommend stop work when conditions adverse to quality are identified.
Review and approve subcontractor submittals, ensuring compliance with requirements identified in the Performance Work Statement, task order Scope of Services, and the CQC Program.
Responsible for assisting the CQCSM in implementing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) three-phase control process.
Inspect (or oversee inspection of) materials and equipment received on site to assure compliance with contractual requirements.
Perform routine Quality surveillances, assessments and audits of work performance as directed by the CQCSM.
Oversee subcontractor work performance for compliance with work plans, drawings and specifications.
Complete daily QC Reports.
Other duties as assigned by the CQCSM.
**Requirements**
- Minimum of Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, including 2 years of experience in USACE projects is desired.
- Current USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" certification, or ability to obtain, is desired.
- Understanding of USACE Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) Remediation is desired.
- General understanding of procurement and construction concepts and principles, and their attendant quality requirements.
- Good written, verbal and Microsoft Office skills are required.
- USA Citizenship is required.
- A person already residing withing commuting distance of Vandergrift, PA is highly desired
- Knowledge and application of the USACE Construction Quality Management requirements.
- Technical knowledge of the application of procurement and construction practices sufficient to comprehend Quality requirements, including interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Experience participating in and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and audits.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel across multiple organizations within a construction and remedial action environment.

Position will be located in Parks Township, Pennsylvania (near Pittsburgh)
Requires ability to pass beryllium sensitivity testing blood test.
**Essential Functions:** Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
