Industrial type electrical work.

  • Power distribution switchgear breakers and transformers.
  • Motor control and power circuits controlling motors ranging from fractional to several hundred horsepower.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMI (Human Machine Interface, controls systems through virtual video displays).
  • Instrumentation devices to sense or measure temperatures, flows, pressures, speed, level, acidities, etc.



Types of equipment to expect.

  • Overhead bridge cranes.
  • Electrical Motor driven pumps.
  • Hydraulic drive motors and pumps.
  • Belt or Screw conveyors.
  • Large blowers and fans.

Tools to be expected.

+ Deliver cycle line layouts and work with the assembly plants to have a complete operator/equipment workstation ready for launch.
+ Operate in stressful situations within timing constraints

**You'll have.**
+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical or an equivalent manufacturing engineering
+ Willingness to travel and support launch activities at our North American Assembly plants (USA, Canada & Mexico)
+ Travel is required including co-location at a North American Assembly plant for 9 or more months depending on scale of vehicle launch.
+ 1 or more years of Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Up to 40-50% travel required

Job Summary:

Yates Cylinders is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Manufacturing Engineer to optimize and support production operations at our facility. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in improving manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and ensuring product quality in the fabrication and assembly of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, including machining, welding, honing, assembly, and testing processes.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and work instructions to improve production efficiency and operator safety.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, CNC programmers, and quality control to support new product introductions and custom cylinder builds.
  • Analyze production processes and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
  • Troubleshoot process issues and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), cycle times, and scrap rates.
  • Support the implementation of ERP/MRP systems and ensure accurate BOMs and routings.
  • Ensure all processes comply with company quality standards, ISO 9001, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of machining operations (CNC turning, milling), welding, and assembly techniques.
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and CAM software.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience working with hydraulic or pneumatic components.
  • ERP software experience (such as Epicor, SAP, or similar).
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) and statistical process control (SPC).

The successful candidate will focus on developing and improving manufacturing processes for large-scale, complex machinery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will report initially to the Chief Executive Officer and will require close collaboration with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure the effective execution of manufacturing strategies. Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of assigned product lines, ensuring manufacturing processes deliver high-quality equipment aligned with safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Evaluate heavy equipment manufacturing and assembly processes by applying knowledge of product design, tooling, hydraulics, and material handling.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new product introductions, from prototype builds to pilot runs to full-scale production.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing validation and testing methods, conducting line trials, and confirming manufacturing readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability, reduce defects, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Improve assembly efficiency by conducting time studies, analyzing workflow, space utilization, equipment layout, ergonomics, and material flow within large-scale assembly lines.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, optimize throughput, and enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Support decision-making with financial estimates by calculating production rates, labor and material costs, and resource requirements for new and existing product lines.
  • Identify and work with vendors to develop unique manufacturing solutions for equipment, fixtures, and tools.
  • Seek optimal outcomes while balancing time, budget, and resource constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges, such as bottlenecks, line balance issues, and equipment utilization problems.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for new manufacturing processes, engineering procedures, and operator work instructions.
  • Participate in the engineering change notice process and implement necessary changes on the manufacturing line.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, supply chain, quality, and aftermarket support, to ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and a customer-focused approach in all processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards related to safety and environmental practices in heavy equipment manufacturing.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate needs to be on-hands and collaborative. This individual will have ability to communicate effectively with internal team members and different business units, customers and vendors. The candidate will need to demonstrate success in implementing new initiatives and opportunities along with problem solving and continuously improving existing operations.


  • 3 - 4 years of practical experience in manufacturing environment including ongoing production support as well as development and implementation of new product introduction.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
  • Six Sigma strategies for lean manufacturing.
  • Motivated to identify waste, propose improvements and support implementation of improvement projects.
  • Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills with the ability to build trust and credibility globally which includes winning approval from various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of creativity and mature judgement in anticipating and solving non-reoccurring, unprecedented problems. Have a root cause / data driven approach to problem solving.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan, create, maintain and resolve open issues, lead functional teams, financial tracking and management of program fund spending.

EDUCATION

The Manager is responsible for the day‐to‐day management and strategic development of the Company's print fulfillment operations. This individual will be a key contributor to the leadership team by ensuring all manufacturing and print fulfillment activities meet RRD quality standards and customers & expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the daily activities for the location, including digital print, receiving and put-away functions, picking/packing, and shipping functions for designated clients in accordance with the agreed-upon SLAs, and with a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Implement short- and long-range goals and operational plans to achieve designated site objectives while maintaining or increasing the overall site efficiency.
  • Ensure necessary resources, i.e. staffing, training, and equipment, are available to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.
  • Review existing operations to determine what improvements can be made with particular attention being paid to areas that allow for cost reduction, improved processing efficiency, and improved quality.
  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.
  • Direct warehouse supervisory team to achieve the established objectives.
  • Ensure that all orders are processed within the fulfillment center according to pre-established SLAs, standards of quality, efficiency, and costs.
  • Ensure that the site achieves all inventory accuracy metrics as they relate to order fulfillment at the site, including cycle count accuracy, shipping, receiving, and packing accuracy.
  • Conduct effective communications with customers and employees. Lead management and staff meetings to organize warehouse activities.
  • Administer and enforce all company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources and operations management to maintain a positive employee relations environment.
  • Enforce a safe working environment by complying with all safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.
  • Provide technical advice to customers, sales, and manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement staffing plans, operational budgets, capital equipment, and inventory requirements.
  • Organize and prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure ISO Quality standards and Customer expectations are met.
  • Coach employees to peak performance by developing the skill level of your staff and their ability to produce quality work and increase efficiencies and productivity.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related problems and assist employees with troubleshooting and solving production/quality issues.

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $90,800 to $145,300 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
