Georgia-Pacific in Madison, GA is now hiring for skilled Production Workers and have the opportunity to operate various types of equipment to help meet production goals while working in a safe environment. This is an entry-level hourly position with opportunity for advancement.
Salary : $20.00/hr. + $2.00 shift differential for night shift
Shift: Our employees work 12-hours shifts following a 2-2-3 schedule . Days 7am - 7pm Nights 7pm -7am; Finishing and Green end Departments 4 - 2- 4 schedule
Our Team
Georgia-Pacific in Madison, GA is part of GP's building products division and one of the leading plywood manufacturing plants. We specialize in the conversion of raw wood materials into plywood. To learn more about our Building Products division, visit You Will Do
- Learn to operate various machines throughout the mill
- Adjust to changing work schedules to meet business demands
- Remove sawdust and other debris from production equipment
- Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns and project requirements.
- Assist team members throughout the mill as needed
- Pull and lift plywood, panels, or scraps that could be up to 25 lbs
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day
- Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties
- Work in a hot, humid, dusty, cold and noisy high-volume environment industrial environment
- Work 10-12 hour rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in at least ONE of the following areas: manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, construction, automotive OR military environment OR completion of post high school education in manufacturing/industrial

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector Lead to ensure our cabinet products meet company standards and customer specifications throughout the assembly process. This role involves inspecting materials, monitoring production quality, and maintaining our reputation for excellence in cabinet manufacturing. This position will be full-time and will provide direct supervision and guidance to quality control staff while maintaining strict adherence to company quality protocols. This includes monitoring quality standards, implementing corrective measures, and preventing substandard products from advancing to the packaging stage.
JOB DUTIES:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• 2-3 Direct reports. Training new employees on Quality Process how to identify defects.
Inspection and Testing:
• Perform in-process quality checks at various assembly line stages to identify defects early • Inspect finished cabinets for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, hardware installation, and overall craftsmanship • Test drawer slides, hinges, and other moving components for proper function and durability • Verify compliance with customer specifications, blueprints, and work orders • Roaming the Panel Processing Department for quality on parts
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed quality control records and inspection logs • Document non-conforming products and track corrective actions • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management • Communicate quality issues to production supervisors and engineering teams • Update quality control procedures and checklists as needed
Process Improvement:
• Identify trends in defects and recommend process improvements • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective measures • Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality policies • Maintain clean and organized inspection areas • Support regulatory audits and customer quality assessments

- JOB TYPE: Full Time
- WAGE PER HOUR: $22 to $6 negotiable based on experience and knowledge
- HOURS PER WEEK: 40+ Sometimes we run a B shift.
- OVER TIME: 10-30 hours if there are open projects that need it
- WORKWEEK: Full-time, day shift with occasional overtime as needed. Monday – Friday (Saturdays if needed) 7am – 3:30pm

Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience in quality control or manufacturing environment • Knowledge of woodworking processes and cabinet construction • Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in furniture or cabinet manufacturing • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) • Certification in quality control or inspection methods • Experience with quality control software/databases
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds • Good vision and manual dexterity for detailed inspections • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise and dust
