Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for heading/metal forming and internal secondary production processes.
- Responsible for operating the plant / machinery according to the required throughput such as OEE and other metrics of the different products / machines.
- Responsible for ensuring personnel are scheduled to manufacture production for the day / period. Manage personnel to run according to specific part routings, ensure to manage overtime, shifts and optimize labor utilization.
- Responsible for production of materials according to specified customer specifications and by adhering to the required quality standards of the Company.
- Ensure adequate tools are on hand and of good quality for each scheduled production runs, work with the tooling and engineering departments to optimize the tool effectiveness.
- Constantly communicate with supply chain, quality assurance and engineering managers and departments to ensure smooth and efficient flow of resources throughout the plant. Ensures clear communication of goals and objectives are aligned to promote best services to end customers at all times.
- Oversee departmental procedures and training.
- Develop annual projects designed to continuously improve the performance of the operations department.
- Performs other duties and assignments as assigned.
- At minimum 10 years of relevant operation and management of a manufacturing facility

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Science, Engineering, or equivalent Technical Degree

Experience:
- Several years of manufacturing operations and/or supply chain experience is required
- Strong background in manufacturing is preferred
- Technical knowledge related to production of Industrial Solutions products is highly preferred
- Experience with automotive, aerospace, and medical change control protocols and quality systems is preferred
- Familiarity with new product introduction, management of change, and root cause investigation is preferred

You will contribute to enhancing our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities while promoting a culture of continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, operational performance, customer satisfaction, and the financial success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage significant project work and provide day-to-day shop support, effectively leading both departmental and cross-functional projects.
- Oversee the efforts of technicians, students, and fellow engineers, mentoring on both technical challenges and project management skills.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize cycle time, inventory, and waste while enhancing quality, process performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Engage in various assignments, including:
- Developing torque curves for assembly operations.
- Integrating torque tools and assembly instructions into the MES.
- Addressing safety, environmental, and ergonomic challenges.
- Improving and optimizing processes and conducting capacity studies.
- Analyzing costs and implementing employee suggestions.
- Launching new products and optimizing existing processes.
- Leading Six Sigma projects and overarching Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Providing shop support to enhance product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a relevant field.
- Experience with developing torque and fastening strategies.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Knowledge of diverse manufacturing processes, tools, and materials.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Dedication to identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing processes.
- Competency in financial analysis and decision-making.
- Understanding of Six Sigma tools and statistical process control.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CAD software, and a willingness to learn SAP.
- Project management experience and ability to take ownership of initiatives.
- Capability to perform hands-on tasks as necessary.
- Willingness to occasionally work off shifts.
