**The Role**
The Customer Care & Aftersales team is seeking a **Manufacturing Engineer.** This position plays a critical role in executing the reimagination of processing within CCA. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll drive large-scale automation and packaging optimization initiatives with a focus on robotics, automation, and product packaging technologies. You will work with cross-functional teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges, particularly those related to workstation design, material flow, and automated systems integration. Your decisions will rely on sound technical judgment within established practices and engineering standards.
This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced robotic and packaging technologies while supporting transformational change across the network.
**What You Will Do**
+ Support **large-scale capital projects** related to automation, packaging systems, and robotics.
+ Provide technical direction on **automation integration** , including robots, manufacturing equipment, and conveyance.
+ Drive **optimization of existing robotic and product conveyance systems** to improve safety, efficiency, and cycle time.
+ Create and maintain engineering standardized work and documentation.
+ Collaborate with outside vendors, integrators, and OEMs to define system capabilities and deployment plans.
+ Lead redesign of production areas, with a focus on **automated workstations** and material presentation.
+ Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, including safety verifications (G-Comply).
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and throughput improvement tools.
+ Coordinate machine runoffs and OEM supervision during equipment installs.
+ Conduct safety contract management (SCM), task planning, and observation tours to ensure a safe work environment.
+ Travel to support OEM build reviews, runoffs, and site installations as required (may include weekends or off-shifts).
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
+ 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or warehousing.
+ Proven ability to design safe, efficient, and scalable operations, including robotic work cells, automated packaging lines, and material handling systems, with a strong emphasis on ergonomic workstation layout, risk mitigation (e.g., G-Comply), and throughput optimization.
+ Working knowledge of: Standardized Work (STDS), Line Balancing (APS). TIP and Indirect Labor Studies, and Throughput improvement tools and simulations
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and workstation/plant layout optimization.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Key Responsibilities
Production Line Launch & Equipment Commissioning

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., plant operations, maintenance, R&D, quality) to ensure launch timelines and quality targets are met.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify and implement improvements in cycle time, throughput, cost, and quality.
Apply lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.) to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and PFMEAs.
Injection Molding & Assembly
Troubleshoot and optimize injection molding processes, including material flow, tooling performance, cooling strategies, and part quality.
Develop and support assembly processes for automotive components, ensuring robust and repeatable operations.
Quality & Compliance
Partner with Quality Engineers to ensure manufacturing processes meet automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP).
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
Conduct capability studies and participate in audits (internal and external).
Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with R&D and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs (DFM/DFA).
Provide feedback on part design for injection molded and assembled components to ensure cost-effective production feasibility.
Support prototype builds and transition to full-scale production.
Cost Analysis & Efficiency
Analyze manufacturing cost structures and identify areas for cost reduction (materials, labor, equipment utilization).
Evaluate supplier processes and support sourcing decisions for tooling and automation.
Support capital investment planning and justification (ROI analysis).
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within an automotive production environment.
Hands-on experience with injection molding , automated assembly , and robotic systems .
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading new production line launches or plant startups.
Proficient in lean manufacturing tools and techniques (5S, value stream mapping, SMED, etc.).
Working knowledge of quality tools and automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA).
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Preferred:

Performs basic professional manufacturing engineering and production assignments in support and under the direction of senior engineers and Management.
MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets up, and programs CNC Lathes and Mills. Including but not limited to the following:
- Changing of chucks, tool bar changes and touch offs, cutting jaws on lathe, indicating in tailstocks, checking for backlash, indicating in drills in lathe turrets, indicating and
Picking up work offsets, creating new and editing CNC programs.

- Understanding of best practices for both machining and work holding techniques.

- Minimum two-year technical degree or 5 years’ minimum experience in manufacturing machining, and process position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Develop process flow charts
+ Conduct time studies
+ Write detailed work instructions
+ Select assembly tools & equipment
+ Develop plant/cell layouts
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
+ Degree candidate in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
+ Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
+ Vehicle and system troubleshooting experience
+ Knowledge of wide variety of processes such as Assembly, Fabrication and Machining
+ Experience using 3D CAD programs such as Solidworks or Creo
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition, the ideal candidate must:
+ Be a team player
+ Have great attention to detail
+ Have strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Be reliable (with reliable mode of transportation)
+ Have strong work ethic and pride in their workmanship
**Pay Range:**
$18.00 - $37.00

**The Role:**
The Electrical Diagnostician is a key position to support the plant in achieving electrical first time quality (EFTQ) during steady-state production. The primary responsibility is supporting electrical end of line (EOL) repair process. This role will collect data and information to help resolve the ongoing issues impacting EFTQ.
**What You'll Do (Responsibilities):**
+ Be a member of the plant's Electrical Team - an integrated, technical organization consisting of members from Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality and Product Development organizations focused on problem solving the plant's top external and internal quality problems.
+ Lead electrical troubleshooting efforts for the plant, focusing on top-hitting EFTQ issues, using Red X statistical problem solving and strategy-based diagnostics.
+ Create actionable items from electrical failures to enable issue documentation and follow up. Leads corrective action plans.
+ Complete required training at various sites around GM and suppliers. (Travel is required in this role)
+ Be the key contact for Final Process Repairman regarding training, troubleshooting vehicle issues, repair root cause entry into GSIP, Service Information schematic and other issues, Plant repair diagnostic tool (GDS2/MDI), and reporting systems. Coordinate training for repairmenon service diagnostic toolsvia Raytheon or applicable company.
+ Conduct training of vehicle electrical systems for Team Leaders so they can support their Team Members
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):**
+ Background or interest in working on vehicles
+ Strong interpersonal and team building skills
+ Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly to translate highly complex technical issues to non-technical people
