Position Overview:

+ Develop and implement new processes or change current processes based upon sound manufacturing or industry practices, may involve implementing medium to large scale new processes.

+ Must possess a good knowledge of process flow and development as related to machining and assembly systems.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree required.

+ Good understanding and the ability to facilitate common problem solving and analysis tools such as but not limited to, PFMEA, Cause and Effect
+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to work closely with operators.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
+ Ability to train and become a certified Green Belt or Black Belt.

The anticipated pay range for this position is 61,400-98,600 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

As part of the talented Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be responsible for becoming the subject matter expert for all items related to producing workpieces in our machining facility; from working with our product design team, to leading the way in our manufacturing processes, to effectively communicating with our wide variety of cross-functional team members.

+ Serve as a technical resource supporting machining operations
+ Work cross functionally with the Quality Team, Industrial Engineering, Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to address issues as they arise
+ Work in a hands-on environment with production machine tools and inspection equipment
+ Develop & implement new (or improve current) processes of various size and scope while monitoring technical developments in high volume production machining
+ Develop and maintain process documentation
+ Investigate, propose & manage capital purchases (for both current product, as well as new product development)
+ Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions
+ Work closely with other teams (both internal and external) to develop equipment specifications, qualify processes, acquire tooling, address ergonomic issues, and rearrange & develop machining cell layouts
+ Implement improvement programs using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve Control) tools
+ Act as a liaison with product engineering & manufacturing program management as needed
+ Provide coaching & mentoring for peers

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
+ Strong mechanical as well as "hands on" aptitude
+ Ability to interact & effectively communicate with different functions & various levels of employees
+ Excellent problem-solving skills & ability to prioritize projects
+ Experience managing capital projects
+ Proficient with 2D / 3D CAD (Autodesk AutoCAD / PTC CREO or equivalent)
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
+ Strong proficiency in MS Office applications

+ Excellent analytical and data analysis skills, careful attention to detail and accuracy

Working Conditions:
+ Main workstation will be your cubicle in our machining facilities, with as-needed trips to the production floor, heat treat facility, assembly facility, main corporate offices, or vendors (~50%)
+ Ability to be at machines on the production floor for extended periods for qualification, runoffs, testing, troubleshooting, training, and more (~45%)
+ Travel required for machine runoffs and vendor visits, both domestic and international (~5%)
+ Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes with metatarsal guards required at all times when on the production floor

To service and support manufacturing operations in the form of maximizing production output via expedient machine repair, procurement of repair parts, preventive maintenance, safety and maintaining building systems.
