As a Technical Operator I, you will be operating the assigned process/equipment in accordance with the work instructions
You will help support production volumes and quality under the production plan while using equipment and computerized systems to produce, assemble, evaluate, process and package lithium-ion batteries in a climate-controlled environment
Prepare equipment and materials for production
Operate equipment in accordance with the OP Manual, in-putting materials, and monitoring defects/loss for continuous operation
Conduct self-inspection of the product and check the quality
Maintain accurate records of production work in GMES (Global Manufacturing Execution System)
Track all non-conformations and scraps
Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations
Perform 5s audits, maintain production logs, quality checks and maintenance work logs
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP's during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area

The Manufacturing Product Engineer will be responsible for Level 10 (L10) manufacturing processes and test of high-performance servers, focusing on both CPU and GPU configurations. This role ensures manufacturing readiness, test process optimization, and product quality throughout the server build lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams in Design, Operations, Quality, and Supplier Management.

**Responsibilities**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and support L10 manufacturing activities, including integration and test of rack-level CPU/GPU servers
+ Develop and implement assembly and test procedures for L10 manufacturing, ensuring compliance with quality, reliability, and regulatory standards
+ Collaborate with Design, NPI, and Manufacturing teams to review product designs for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT)
+ Identify and resolve issues encountered during server build and test phases, performing root cause analyses as needed
+ Drive continuous improvements in manufacturing and test yields, throughput, and process efficiency
+ Oversee test fixture design, deployment, and maintenance for rack-level server validation

Fraunhofer USA Center Midwest is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and technically competent individual to join our team as a Advanced Composites Manufacturing Specialist In this role you will play an integral part within our diverse team of experts facilitating applied research projects between Fraunhofer USA and Fraunhofer transatlantic affiliates.

The business core working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with an average working week of 40 hours. Project-dependent work hours may be shifted outside of the core working hours as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold lab upkeep and maintenance standards to ensure a safe and efficient research environment
    and management of ongoing projects
  • Advancing composite manufacturing via robotic fiber placement and additive manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD. required in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Science or a related engineering or science field with a strong background in composite materials or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experimental/hands-on expertise in composite manufacturing and testing.
  • Prior expertise in numerical modeling of layered composites.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to independently identify, develop and implement scientific solutions to practical problems
  • Able to set priorities and adapt to changing needs as well as the proven ability to function well in as fast-paced environment
  • Able to work in an interdisciplinary, diverse, and international team

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Prior working experience in surface preparation for adhesion promotion.
  • Prior working experience with programming languages.
