Starting Salary: $18.00-$24.00

Job Summary:
The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the Fruitland Mill's business goals and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant's facility equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair or production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper management.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Travel:
This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve plant efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and production staff.

- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management, with at least 3 years in a Plant Manager role.
- Proven experience in managing large production teams and complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet challenging production deadlines.
