+ Hands-on application of organic coatings.
+ ACAS, Aerospace Coatings Application Specialist Certification preferred.
+ CEF, Certified Electro Plating Finisher and CAF, Certified Aerospace Finisher certification from the AESF preferred.

Working under the general direction of the Plant Supervisor. This is a hands-on leadership role that is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the fabrication department, ensuring team performance, production efficiency, and machine uptime across multiple fabrication systems including Ermaksan fiber optic laser, Amada turret punches, and Ermaksan and Cincinnati press brakes. The position requires strong technical skills, leadership experience, and the ability to implement process improvements in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations in the fabrication department, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production goals.
- Schedule and assign work across shifts based on production priorities, staffing, and equipment availability.
- Maintain and update MDI visual management boards to track real-time performance metrics, WIP status, and key operational indicators.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fiber optic lasers, Amada turret punch presses, and press brakes; program parts directly at the machine when rework is needed.
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including waste reduction, standard work improvements, and 5S practices to increase throughput and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering to mark up and review BOMs, improve part designs, and implement revisions seamlessly.
- Coordinate with purchasing to optimize material flow, reduce excess inventory, and minimize job interruptions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and safety training to fabrication team members.
- Monitor and track employee hours, vacation, and performance metrics to support accountability and engagement.
- Assist in special in-house fabrication projects and support the Coil Shop with necessary fabricated parts.
Position Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication leadership.
- Proficient with fiber optic laser cutting, Amada turret punch presses, and press brake operation.
- Strong troubleshooting and machine programming skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, BOMs, and technical drawings.
