Saint-Gobain is seeking a skilled team player to join our dynamic Maintenance group in Hoosick Falls, New York. The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the production equipment to ensure minimal production down-time and a safe work environment.
Candidate should be able to install, setup and troubleshoot temperature, speed, weight, pressure, flow and thickness sensing instrumentation. Able to monitor and troubleshoot controls using programmable logic controllers. Set up and tune loop controllers and PID loops. Maintenance and repair of electrical industrial control systems. Production equipment includes; material handling, bulk chemical systems, batch mixing, web coaters, extruding, converting and packaging equipment.
The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is also responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the facilities equipment such as: HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, motors, pollution control equipment, life safety, electrical power distribution, network, hoists, docks and automated doors.
The position requires scheduled shift work, weekend work and emergency call-ins during off shifts to support production. The Technician will report into the Maintenance Supervisor.
We seek candidates with the following knowledge, skills & abilities:
+ Associate's Degree or equivalent in industrial, electrical, electronic or instrumentation technologies preferred - will consider those with HS Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance
+ Experience in troubleshooting PLC based control systems (Rockwell Software preferred)
+ Experience with analog temperature, pressure flow, speed and weight measurement

+ Associate Director: 10 years of relevant experience
+ Director: 12 years of relevant experience
+ Previous experience in Pharmaceuticals. Biotechnology, Medical Device and/or similar FDA regulated industry required.
+ May consider equivalent combination of education and experience. Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role
