**Production Supervisor**
**Provides leadership and supervision to production work teams and serves as the link to plant management for the team. Facilitates team meetings, intervenes as necessary to keep the team's goals and results consistent with company direction, and works with the team members to develop their full potential. The shift supervisor, in conjunction with the team, is responsible for product quality, product quantity, equipment condition, team member safety and department housekeeping.**
**Production Supervisor is free to make decisions on job assignments, work priorities, overtime requirements and to correct any safety or quality problems, administer discipline, and make hire and fire recommendations.**
**Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:**
+ Supervises and facilitates the day-to-day shift activities of team. Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to team members. Responsible for their individual performance.
+ Oversees scheduling, material handling issues and maintenance, as well as resolving production problems. Helps team achieve goals and has responsibility for personnel issues, including required discipline.
+ Provides a communication network between direct reports and middle and upper management.
+ Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment. Encourages and leads team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit.
+ Develops and implements safety procedures and supports EH&S Manager in achieving departmental and plant safety goals.
+ Assures that the team maintains quality standards and uses Lean techniques for problem resolution through knowledge of product specifications and training of personnel.
+ Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards, and is directly accountable for expenditures exceeding budgeted levels.
+ Strives to be technically proficient on the machinery in the department. Provides assistance to the team in problem resolution and assures that testing and product development is carried out in a professional manner.

+ The Shift Supervisor must be a leader with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels.
+ Problem Solver
**Essential Job Functions include the following:**
+ PPE is required and must be worn at all times: Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes
+ Must be able to work 8 or 12 hours shifts on day or night shifts as needed. Occasional overtime is required.
+ The plant operates on a continuous operating schedule. Candidate must be able to work weekdays and weekends as the schedule demands.
+ No travel is required unless training is offered
+ Occasional physical effort involving continuous or prolonged standing, bending, word processing, etc.

+ Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Packing.
+ Ensure that all department and factory cGMP's are followed.
+ Develop flexibility in team members through cross training.
+ Focus on team engagement to achieve continuous improvement in production efficiency.
+ Drive kaizen/ continuous improvement work together with Process Engineers and other team members to improve productivity and service.
+ Responsible for both operations and maintenance of the department, driving productivity improvement, maintenance losses reduction, robust maintenance plans and maintenance cost control and improvement.
+ Collaborate with appropriate departments and support.
+ Assesses and control labor costs for the department.
+ Evaluate and investigate material waste related to packing lines, creating robust action plans to drive waste reduction.

+ Direct the work of the shift's team to build efficiency, cross training, safer work practices and attainment of quality goals

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday.

What you'll do:

Primary Function

Assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard and near standard fixed assemblies in Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control and related assemblies and sub-assemblies. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Assemble and wire units, relay panels, panel boards, space heaters, and control panels. Bend and install power cable and leads, fabricate pre-cable unit, panel and MTB harnesses, and power leads. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Stage parts for customer orders.

Essential Functions

A. Work from oral or written instructions from supervision and/or prints, inspection reports, manufacturing information sheets, and standard or near standard wiring diagrams.

B. Utilize manufacturing information sheets, determine necessary parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials from stock areas.

C. Read shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures such as component types and configuration, mounting locations and clearances required.

D. Assemble and fit parts and components to form sub-assemblies, or completed assemblies.

E. Assemble and wire control devices, cutting wires to length.

F. Make adjustments to insure correct alignment and clearances.

G. Install units, pan assemblies and cover up steel, meters, kirk keys, pull boxes, reactors, relays, fuses, MTB assemblies, panel boards, space heaters, transformers, etc. by mounting / bolting into place. Assemble and install bus work such as lug adapters, cross over bus, splices, etc.

H. Make pre-bent cable unit, MTB and control panel harnesses using pre-cable boards, control panels and hand crimp lugs if necessary. Cut, install and connect wire and/or cable in units where circuitry requires additional relays, timers, fuses, etc. Cut, form and connect control wire, power wire and cable, point to point on units, relay panels, control panels, and space heaters. Make solder connections.

I. Modify standard assemblies or doors as received. May alter hole cutouts, etc. using hand or power tools.

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC (Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement)
