Job Description:

The Mechanical Assembler Associate will be responsible for assembling TV mounts and other electrical product. Performing mechanical assembly and/or basic machining operations according to work assignment description and scheduling. Assembly or Manufacturing experience required.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform light assembly and/or basic machining operations according to work assignment description and scheduling.
  • Follow the production and quality procedures by following prints and checking materials for defects, maintain production.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings to perform basic assembly and machining operations
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Inspect work to validate quality and accuracy
  • Transport products as required to the correct location when completed utilize the proper material handling methods.
  • Monitor and replenish raw materials as required for the post of operation
  • Completed all documentation and electronic data updates as required
  • Prepare and package units for shipment as required
  • Assist with other duties within the department and/or other workstations/departments when necessary
  • Complete clean-up responsibilities and maintain work station according to 5S procedure
  • Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Possess a basic mechanical, math, and problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to operate, but not limited to the following equipment: Basic machining posts, Saws, Paint Sprayers, and hoists.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, BOM's and associated procedures
  • Ability to use and interpret measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (hand drills, screw drivers, hammers etc)
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude, basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks

Position Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will serve as an engineering & manufacturing subject matter expert for our client across various programs requiring product design and development knowledge. Your knowledge and expertise will be widely applied across our client's broad client base from various industry domains such as aerospace, automotive, other defense sectors. You will provide thought leadership around new technologies and methodologies while working with their clients in defining future state for their engineering and manufacturing strategies. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and processes involved in manufacturing. As a key member of the Customer Engagement Team, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for executing against key milestones and deliverable timelines. This role requires client- facing interaction with project teams in meeting aggressive timelines and delivering effective client solutions.


Responsibilities

Lead the development and innovation of our client's branded solutions and offerings to be used across DoD and commercial industry sectors.

Drive automation techniques and testing of new systems to optimize clients production capabilities.

Perform and review design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) to identify and assess design and manufacturing risks.

Conduct and review analyses of part production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to better understand future requirements needed for customers manufacturing processes.

Interface with manufacturing suppliers to lead APQP activities (PFMEA, Control plans, PPAP).

Drive technical execution of projects around focus areas of Industry 4.0 / Digital Factory / Model Based Enterprise / Advanced Manufacturing / Additive Manufacturing.

Perform accurate / professional documentation and presentation of technical data, analyses, and reports.

Review manufacturing instructions, methods, and processes to identify and improve customer efficiency.

Develop process strategy documentation outlining the technical and process changes and analyses.

Support active feedback between customers and the team to drive improvements.

Plan and coordinate work of junior engineering staff in coordination with the Leadership team, including providing training / mentoring to junior engineering staff as needed.

Oversee project progress against planned schedules.

Partner effectively with the project/ program management, technical team, and customer to deliver according to agreed plans and schedules.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues as they arise and initiate corrective actions.

Ability to manage deliverables, lead small teams of engineers, and execute tasks with minimal oversight.


Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

4+ years related engineering experience

Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently

Expertise in GD&T

Understanding of PPAP through PPAP Level 5

Experience with assembly and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace parts

Experience with design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and cost

Demonstrated time management and project management skills

Expertise in editing, controlling, and reviewing PFMEAs and Control Plans

Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and work with business and technical stakeholders

Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influential skills

Availability for travel to customer locations as required; estimated at up to 50% - client dependent


Desired Qualifications

2+ years team lead / engineering project manager experience

The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for the Ready to Schedule backlog for all work created throught the work management

process.The Maintenance Scheduler will work directly with the Maintenance Team, Production SchedulingTeam and the Sanitation Team

to develop short, medium and long term work schedules. The Maintenance Scheduler schedules 100% of all available labor hours,

Schedules all outside contractor work and assymbles job packets with the maintenance schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Cordinates with production scheduler in scheduling meeting to schedule all ready to schedule work.
* Determines schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, criticality of equipment, Due

date, production priority and skill of personnel.

* Creates weekly maintenance schedule for the associated plant and distributes maintenance schedules to departments.
* Manages work order ready to schedule backlog into short, medium and long term scheduling buckets.
* Utilizes and adhears to work scheduling work stream in the Work Management Process.
* Utilizes metrics/data to evaluate and improve work processes
* Confers with Inner plant supervisors to schedule work within or between departments
* Generate reports and track metrics from CMMS for Scheduling compliance
* Schedules as required Maintenance projects that are not capital funded
* Updates Work Scheduling practices from Job Close out feedback
* Maintains high quality work order documentation and records in CMMS.

Performs additional duties as assigned. Supports operations as needed.

Our Manufacturing Supervisors at Silfex deliver results for the department as well as the organization through coaching and building teams - creating a performance-driven culture within their teams. They accomplish this by equipping their direct reports with the tools, knowledge and opportunities they need to fully develop and be effective in their commitment to themselves, the company and their work.

Accountable to the Manufacturing Manager for meeting/exceeding performance targets (production, delivery, quality, cost, safety) within the value stream via the efficient allocation and use of resources (equipment and personnel) in support of customer satisfaction. Coaches production floor employees on the achievement of key performance metrics. Provides direction to implement, plan, develop, organize, and continuously improve production areas to maximize productivity and efficiencies. Collaborates with engineering, quality, and maintenance to minimize scrap and machine downtime. Responsible for the development and cross-training of employees to ensure flexibility of resource planning and increased workforce proficiency. Champions the use of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints methodologies to achieve performance targets. Supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned value streams/and or manufacturing work cells in the production of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Job Description, Duties and Responsibilities:

* Set goals for individual as well as team performance that support the department metrics
* Organize, prioritize and delegate workload to meet daily output targets
* Develop a good understanding of how department metrics support Silfex's annual operating plan
* Develop a thorough understanding of all the workflows in the functional area, including inputs, outputs and all parameters that impact each workflow
* Model ownership and compliance in all areas to the team. Conduct periodic audits to monitor compliance. Ensure employee training is up-to-date. Review all relevant procedures, policies, training & onboarding plans, and standard work and update as needed
* Execute the manufacturing schedules based on information and requirements from management and customer - reviews production orders, schedules, and pull signals to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan production. Ensures manufacture of products on schedule, in accordance with quality standards, and at the lowest possible cost.
* Understand existing barriers and predict potential barriers that might prevent the team from achieving its daily goals and work proactively as well as inclusively to eliminate them or minimize the impact
* Work with Team Lead as well as Value Stream Manager to address safety, quality, throughput and scheduling issues. Confer with engineering, quality control, metrology or other support functions to resolve manufacturing issues.
* Champion continuous improvement through standard work and other Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Drive resolution to all shop floor issues through coaching, facilitating training on work flow processes, generating action items with proactive follow up and responsible escalation
* Assist Value Stream Manager with development of department metrics. Develop methods to monitor performance. Participate in gemba walks and metric review meetings. Assist with analysis and manipulation of data to establish performance standards
* Ensure inventories for consumables as well as adequate WIP for all processing resources in the area are monitored and maintained.
* Ensure collection of all data (safety, quality, delivery, cost) and execution of ERP transactions occurs daily and in a timely manner
* Ensure daily communication of defined shift metrics, opportunities, project status to the team, oncoming shift counterpart, supervisor, engineering and others as identified in the shift communication plan.
* Encourage good performance; motivate employees using appropriate feedback methods. Be a reflective listener to accurately understand the needs of the team. Provide reinforcing as well as corrective feedback in a timely manner. Employ coaching techniques and employee discipline guidelines to effectively manage and optimize employee performance
* Identify training needs for supervisors and/or employees. Develop training needs matrices for proper tracking. Establish training sessions for new employees and maximize production efficiency through training.
* Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
* Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* Three to five years of manufacturing experience and one to three years supervisory/team lead experience; or equivalent combination of experience
* Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
* Must have demonstrated history of driving continuous improvement employing Lean tools to generate results of significant value to the organization and sustained over a considerable period of time
* Ability to interpret instructions in a variety of formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule form, etc.) and assess drawings, and specifications and apply it to make decisions pertaining to safety and product quality
* Must have experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as interfacing with an ERP software.
* Must have experience with data entry into a quality/productivity tracking software or performing transactions in an ERP system.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Must be safety and quality minded
* Must be detail oriented
* Must have demonstrated history of providing reinforcing and corrective feedback to drive positive behavior change and subsequent impact

* Experience with formal documentation of performance reviews, performance improvement plans and performance warnings
