**Job Description:**
+ Support production and provide sustaining engineering for the Rod Polishing Fabrication Department
+ Design, develop, and implement technical solutions relating to optical fabrication including processes, tooling, and equipment

Our client, a leading name in innovative manufacturing solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their fully remote team. This critical role will focus on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, process improvement, and automation, with a proven ability to drive significant operational enhancements. You will play a key role in ensuring our client remains at the cutting edge of manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
• Design, install, and validate new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, engineering, and supply chain, to achieve operational goals.
• Manage manufacturing projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
• Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure products meet stringent standards.
• Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technology and recommend adoption where appropriate.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support the remote operation and optimization of manufacturing facilities globally.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
• Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of automation, robotics, and process control systems.
• Experience with CAD software for process layout and design is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong project management abilities, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different levels of an organization.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
• Experience working in a remote-first environment is highly valued.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
