General Summary

A Construction Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet specified standards and requirements. The primary focus is on maintaining the quality of the construction process and the final product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Must have the ability to read, and interpret construction drawings
* Perform difficult and challenging construction and project management functions including planning, directing and budgeting for assigned projects.
* Responsible for coordinating inspections with the government, documenting findings, and resolving all deficiencies.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

* Knowledge of U.S. Government procurement regulations and labor laws desirable
* Must have or be able to pass Corps of Engineers CQM class for contractors
* Advanced management and employee, and customer relations skills.
* Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project.
* Experience with P6 (Oracle) is preferred.
* Experience with ProCore is preferred
* Advanced attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while attending to multiple tasks and demands.

Work Experience

* 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
* Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting and general construction
* 4 years of Supervisory experience preferred

* High School Diploma

* Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry course
* Certified Safety, Environmental and Emergency Manager (CSEM) preferred
* Within 8 months of reporting on site the SSO will attend the following classes provided by the American Society of Hospital Engineers: NFPA 101 for Healthcare (3 day course), NFPA 99 (3 day course), and ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (2 day course). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Control oversight and compliance

  • Implement and manage QC procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with AOSA and ISTA rules.
  • Review and communicate service level agreements (SLAs) for testing results and usage decision.

Sampling and testing

  • Develop sampling plans in line with company strategy.

Quality Control Inspector Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards.
  • Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards.
  • Inspect bolted and/or riveted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc.
  • Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site.
  • Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc.
  • Perform on site internal audit to confirm, or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company QA/QC Manual.
  • Ensures compliance of AISC and AWS Standards with company subcontractors.
  • Work within guidelines provided in company QA/QC Manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS.

Position Overview:
  • Technical Lead - Data Center & Quality Control Design who can bridge the gap between engineering intent and real-world execution.
  • This role requires deep technical expertise in data center infrastructure, meticulous attention to design details, and the ability to identify and correct issues before they impact build quality.
  • Actively participate in engineering calls, review designs, and ensure all components such as cable management, grounding, and rack configurations meet both technical requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead technical authority for data center build design reviews from concept to final implementation.
  • Participate in engineering calls to understand design requirements and proactively identify missing or incorrect elements.
  • Verify that all physical and electrical components (e.g., cable management, grounding, rack alignment) are properly specified and documented.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge to ensure compliance with grounding standards (e.g., ensuring metal-to-metal contact where required).
  • Review, validate, and adjust BOMs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and practicality making modifications when parts are missing, better alternatives exist, or supply constraints require changes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to resolve design or component issues before deployment.
  • Oversee rack build quality, ensuring designs are executed as planned and meet technical specifications.
  • Document and communicate design changes, quality issues, and corrective actions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide team members on technical best practices in data center design and quality control.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center infrastructure, rack building, and quality control.
