Job Description
Works independently to perform maintenance, repair, and/or modification of the plants computer driven controls systems and the plants mechanical and electrical systems. Is involved in fabrication, application, installation and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, the installation of electrical conduit and machine/building wiring.
Manufacturing/Industrial Electrician Primary Responsibilities-
- Adhere to all safety programs and policies.
- Day to day troubleshooting, repair, and installation of low and high voltage (single/three phase) industrial electromechanical and control systems for production equipment.
- Responsible for installing, calibrating, repairing, designing, constructing, adjusting, modifying, and performing preventative maintenance on all types of electronic equipment.
- Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
- Maintains daily shift inspection and repair logs for review by supervision, and other plant personnel.
- Analyzes and reviews wiring diagrams, blueprints and schematics. Checks to insure electrical drawings are up-to-date.
- Uses various types of meters and test equipment proficiently to allow for sound decision-making in the troubleshooting process. Able to communicate information to maintenance supervision and engineering to assist in analyzing equipment or for the purpose of making equipment modifications.
- Troubleshoots, locates and isolates problems associated with electrical equipment on the Shingle line.
- Maintains plant instrumentation such as heat controllers and recording devices, concentration transmitters, level controls, and flow control devices.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Work independently in troubleshooting and repair problems with Programmable Logic Controllers and related components when required.
- Be able to obtain back-up PLC programs and repair from a server to reload and reboot PLC programs to restore faulted equipment.
- Provide assistance to mechanical installations as directed.
- Minimal travel required for training, etc, as determined by Supervision.
- Perform daily and down-time cleaning.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work mandatory overtime as required.
- Experience using both DC and AC motors, VF drives and controlled systems (Allen Bradley preferred).
- Background in Programmable Logic Controllers, computer systems and electronics.
- Experience in design, repair, and analysis of electrical systems. Must have exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies.
- Candidate must be willing to take courses to keep up with advancing technologies.
- Able to read, interpret, and modify electrical prints and schematics and document all self-created changes. Proficiency in electrical installations with conduit and wiring practices. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem solving situations; and uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment properly.
- Consistently at work and on time, remains on duty until relieved or given permission to leave.
- Follows instructions, commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals, and completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate people as needed.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; and, able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Basic understanding of computers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Two-year technical degree in electrical engineering, technology, or related field.
- Minimum of four years' experience in an industrial, electrical position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates will be subject to Electrical Aptitude, PLC and controls Aptitude, Mechanical Aptitude and a 90-day introductory period.
- Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, and safely lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, and/or reach.
- Must be able to use senses to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering for Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division in Griffin, GA will be responsible for leading process improvements that deliver world class quality & efficiency, producing Engines, Gensets and Power Modules.

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Technical Director to lead the company’s technical, regulatory, and quality operations. This position will oversee product development, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage quality control systems, serving as the primary technical authority for all aerosol-related activities. The Technical Director will collaborate closely with the production, sales, and management teams to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
General
- Provide support to manufacturing, internal departments, senior management, sales, and external customers
- Communicate technical results, problems, and potential solutions to senior management
- Troubleshoot and resolve formulation problems
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues and/or customer complaints
- Maintain formulation records, batch sheets, performance data, and testing documentation
- Review and approve product labels and technical specifications
- Support the integration of new aerosol lines, propellant systems, and filling methods
- Lead and develop lab technicians, QC and compliance staff members
- Serve as the technical expert/liaison between departments and senior leadership
Product Development & Formulation
- Lead R&D efforts to formulate and develop new aerosol products of moderate to high complexity to include room sprays, industrial aerosols, and specialty formulations
- Review existing formulations for cost, performance, and regulatory compliance
- Evaluate raw materials, propellant systems, and componentry for formulation stability and performance
- Oversee lab testing for spray pattern, fill weight, shelf-life, packaging compatibility, and VOC content
- Collaborate with senior leaders on new product, process development and improvements of product line
- Identify formula adjustments, additions/deletions to products
- Ensure all products meet internal and external regulatory requirements including, but not limited to EPA, FDA, DOT, OSHA, CARB, TSCA, and any international standards
- Review and approve COAs, batch records, and specification sheets.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, technical data sheets, formulation records, and regulatory documentation
- Manage product registrations and coordinate with regulatory consultants or authorities as needed
- Serve as ARI’s point of contact (POC) for regulatory audits and/or customer compliance reviews
- Oversee product testing, quality control, and analytical validation procedures.
- Develop and enforce all QA/QC protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for production batches
- Approve incoming raw materials and packaging components for use in production
- Collaborate with operations to optimize line performance, reduce waste, and troubleshoot fill or valve issues
- Research and introduce developments in raw materials and technologies to enhance product performance and reduce costs
- Ensure safe handling and storage of flammable, pressurized, or hazardous materials.
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives related to VOCs, HAPs, and waste
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerosol industry or related manufacturing sector
- In-depth knowledge of aerosol formulations, propellants (LPG, HFCs, DME, CO₂, N₂), valve systems, and filling equipment.
- Experience with regulatory requirements applicable to aerosol products.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, sales, and customers.
- Familiarity with ISO, GMP, or other quality systems
- Working knowledge of lab instrumentation (GC, FTIR, viscometers, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and/or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience managing a team or lab department
- Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, FDA, and DOT compliance
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

What You Will Be Doing:As a Quality Control Technician you will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the products produced by the Yancey Engineering Team.
Primary Responsibilities:- Inspect tanks and enclosures at different phases of production to verify compliance of build
- Document phase inspections for each build
- Inspect UL Tank builds at different phases of fabrication for UL 142 compliance
- Scan and maintain filing of compliance documentation to job folders
- Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner
Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you will have prior experience with quality control inspections, strong accountability and initiative. This position also requires someone who has advanced problem solving skills, drive and attention to detail.
Education/Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Capable of reading tape measurement and reading/interpreting YES shop drawings
- Computer skills to include Internet Explorer, Excel, Access, Word, Power point
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the telephone
