Job Overview

Qualifications
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-tech or electronics industries.
+ Extensive experience with LEAN manufacturing principles (certification in LEAN or Six Sigma is highly preferred).
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
+ Skills:

The Quality Control Inspector position reports to the QA Manager. The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting visual, dimensional, and process inspections during the manufacturing of high voltage transformers and DC rectifiers. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections at defined stages of production to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings.
  • Inspect coil windings, VPI-treated coils, and lamination stacks for quality, alignment, and integrity.
  • Oversee and document the landing of core and coil assemblies into the transformer tank, ensuring dimensional and mechanical compliance.
  • Inspect welded components of transformer tanks and frames for defects such as cracks, undercut, porosity, and ensure compliance with weld symbols and specifications.
  • Ensure traceability of components and correct application of identification tags, part numbers, and nameplates.
  • Accurately complete and maintain inspection records, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits related to ISO 9001:2015.
  • Report and escalate non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Verify compliance with documented procedures, work instructions, and quality plans as required by the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the maintenance of a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education - Experience

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Technology preferred
  • 2+ years in technical training in mechanical inspection control preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the inspection of power transformers or high-voltage rectifier systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality audits, process control, and internal non-conformance tracking.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma environments.

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities And Training Needs

  • Proficient in technical drawing interpretation and mechanical assembly fit-up.
  • Proficient in weld symbol reading weld inspection criteria.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 principles, documentation requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Ability to work objectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels within the organization.

Role and Scope of Position:
Supports the implementation, of the Eversource Quality Control program as it relates to any of the following construction, maintenance, meter service, leak survey, corrosion, damage prevention, LNG and I&R activities at Eversource Gas. Ensures that work and activities are performed in accordance with all federal, state, and company construction standards and procedures and all safety rules and standards established by the Company and required by law. The QC Specialist has the authority to direct and stop, if necessary, work to ensure compliance with all requirements. This position is an authorized company representative when on job sites and has the authority to make decisions, within their area of responsibility, on behalf of the Company.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Ensures safe work practices are being employed in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety Handbook and Contractor Safety Manual.
+ Ensures all work activities are being performed in accordance with Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures. Verifies that the work is being performed by qualified personnel.
+ Verifies that work packages are in order with appropriate work procedures as required, mark out ticket, and mapping information.
+ Monitors resources associated with the Company's re-dig program.
+ Supports the on-boarding of contractor crews and verifies that all aspects of the Company's Operator Qualification Plan are being followed.
+ Identifies non-compliant conditions and situations, makes recommendations for corrective action.
+ Responsible for accurate documentation of inspection results.
+ Responsible for the Company's gas quality control programs.
+ Performs activities that will contribute to the annual gas inspection plan including random inspections and re-dig program activities.
+ Will be assigned an ERP role and will support Gas or Electric during any ERP or Work Continuation event as required.
