The manufacturing technician is responsible for performing the assigned multi-skilled tasks in the production and processing of silicone rubber compounds, primarily in the manufacturing plant areas.
Responsibilities

Move all scrap, empty containers, and production waste to the proper disposal area. Maintain and clean tools or other aids and store in the proper location.
- Package out material when batch process is complete.
- Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO-9000 work procedures as needed.
- Maintain good communication with oncoming shift.
- Utilize maintenance work order system to communicate any repairs needed to equipment or to resolve an unsafe situation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or similar field required.
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant and progressive manufacturing management experience; experience in leading production/direct labor is required. Leadership experience with direct reports that are managing people is a plus.
+ P&L experience with inventory management, budgeting, and planning capabilities is a plus.
+ Previous ERP experience strongly preferred.
+ Change agent that demonstrates original thinking, facilitation skills, and the ability to develop innovative approaches for improving workflow and processes within the ITW Business Model.
+ Understands a variety of operational excellence competencies including but not limited to: ITW Toolbox, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, etc.

The Product Technician operates equipment used to press or hand mold refractory brick from mixtures of wet and dry materials with varying binders. Technicians inspect, make minor repairs and adjustments, changes molds and sets up refractory press for the manufacturing of product.
Positions start at $24.84 per hour.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Operates and programs presses, setters, pickers, scales and all of bearing equipment; off bears brick from press table to rack cark, kiln car or pallet, cleans loose material and flange before setting in prescribed manner.
- Operates tram cab, high lift any other transport machinery to deliver materials to presses.
- Transfers kiln cars; transports racks and/or rack cars to and from presses and ovens.
- Gauges and cleans kiln cars.
- Operates lift trucks to transport materials through out the plant.
- Performs SMS charting and analysis of process variables.

The role primarily works from the factory and provides guidance and support to define and execute the factory strategy and develop Autonomous Operational teams, as well as ensuring a regular update of accurate key manufacturing information and master data. The Manufacturing Excellence Expert acts as the center of expertise, resource for competence development, and can act as an escalation role for the factory with other corporate functions. This role focuses as well on reapplication of best practices across the different factories.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Development of the Tactical Improvement and Execution Plan of the Factories in the Category:
1. Enable the factories to translate the defined manufacturing strategy (at category level) into an Implementation plan considering the following:
- Business priorities & category ambition
- Loss analysis / External benchmarks
- 3 years planned progression of KPI's, People and workplace transformation (FactoryVision).
- Ability to leverage use of digital tools to help factory improve losses with applicable/relevant (Digital, Capex, Etc.) 2. Ensures the right cascading of the priorities and measures across all factories in the category.
3. Coach and support the Factory ME Manager to leverage TPM/Autonomy and IP tools to support the business needs and deliver the expected results.
4. Support the ongoing management of the Factory improvement plans by:
- Evaluating maturity progression and identifying key opportunities together with the Factory ME Manager.
- Evaluating the strategies and execution of the autonomous workforce development plans.
- Coaching and supporting the development of Factory governance / routines to accelerate sustainable results.
Support the development of Critical Competence of Factory Leadership Team :
1. Provides hands on approach to Factory Leadership Team / Pillar Owners to accelerate improvements of results (coach by doing with factory).
2. Support & Coach the Training & Learning Pillar to establish and evaluate robustness of function/pillar capability building plan
3. Ensures an overall understanding of the different TPM/Autonomy methodologies (pillars) and IP productivity tools within the functions and how they integrate through the Improvement implementation plan
4. Develop the Factory ME Manager on key system/tool competences based on the development plan to develop an autonomous operational team.
Enable factories to drive and execute the Improvement Implementation Plan to improve and sustain the results.
1. Promote and support factory reapplication of best manufacturing practices, standards, and improvements across category/factories
2. Lead/support as member Rapid Improvement Projects to accelerate the delivery of results in key areas of the factory
3. Coach factory ME manager and FLT to identify key losses and root cause by applying LTA/IPA and problem-Solving methodologies
4. Evaluate the health of systems, tools, and competence building to improve the factory results in a continuous and sustainable manner. Escalate functional support resource needs where applicable.
5. Support the Factory ME Manager with adoption and integration of digital solutions as single point of contact
6. Ensure key manufacturing master data and standards (capacities, capabilities, rates, efficiencies, crewing, etc.) is regularly updated and accurate
Cost Saving and Project Management.
1. Building credibility within the organization through strong Leadership by Example.
2. Supporting prioritization within the Category and Market.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required
EXPERIENCES:
- Factory experience (7+ years), preferable acting as Factory ME Manager or Production / Maintenance Manager.
- Experience (7+ years) working with factory management/leadership team
- Strong Practical experience in leading and coaching TPM/Autonomy Practices, preferably experience in several pillars.
- Strong experience in IP and Problem-Solving tools and methodologies
- Experience working with senior management - Solid knowledge of manufacturing standards and master data - Successfully lead and develop cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership in cultural change management & managing multiple complex priorities and business connections with direct and indirect stakeholders
SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of TPM/Autonomy
- Advanced Problem-Solving capabilities (Green Belt Preferred)
- Strong analytical skills (Capacity Analysis, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Change Management - Strong competence on Continuous Improvement Guide (CIG) and the Organization Structure (OS) framework for Manufacturing - Strong competence of IP tool kit and line and labor study methodologies
- Project Management competence
- Understanding of Basic Finance & Value Creation
- Knowledge of key data systems (SAP, DMO, etc.) & digital technologies
- Category centric knowledge of manufacturing processes (PPM)
- Strong competence in application of Leadership Development principles

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Technician II position will be responsible for leading CNC programming improvements, conducting advanced tooling trials, and provide troubleshooting support on all equipment as assigned utilizing internal and external resources. This position will be a direct support function to operations that will serve as the front line of defense against machine and process issues. This will help insure exceptional customer delivery and quality control. This position will also support Engineering, Maintenance, and on-site Lean groups.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Generate solutions for machining quality issues reported by machine operators.

Recommend improvements for tool life and cycle times in existing CNC programs.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with maintenance personnel to ensure customer delivery.

Perform mechanical re-alignments of CNC equipment and work holding independently.

Assist in creating manufacturing documentation and work instructions for new and existing CNC equipment.

Support Manufacturing Engineering with process, equipment, and tooling improvements.

Communicate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, Supervisors, and outside vendors regarding projects and equipment repair problems.

Help relocate and install large machinery.

Understand engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance work orders, or manufacturers' manuals.

Handle various assignments and changing priorities.

Perform basic preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.

YOU HAVE

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or trade school preferred.

3-5 years of direct CNC machining setup experience.

Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Excellent print reading skills: GD&T, 3D modeling, and CAD proficiency is a plus
