Job Description
The Manufacturing Manager role will direct the manufacturing and assembly of rubber products to meet quality and customer service requirements. The Manufacturing Manager must lead with safety, understand business & manufacturing processes, employe effective staffing strategies, instill a culture of quality, and improve productivity. It is a role that requires drive, problem solving, continuous improvement, and the ability to remove barriers. This role reports to the Plant Manager and is based at Thermoid Bellefontaine, OH location.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for improving the Safety performance of the operations team and maintenance of all elements of process safety management.
- Deploy lean tools, methods and processes that make up the HBD Business System, including Lean Manufacturing, Structured Problem Solving, and Kaizen.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement to support business needs and expectations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to leverage cross-functional resources.
- Works closely with Human Resources as needed to hire operators with required skill sets. Ensures operators are on-boarded and trained via a comprehensive plant training program to maximize their opportunity for success and increase plant expertise.
- Develop operational employees and ensure career success via goal setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plan.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects amid changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and produce results.
- Develop strong partnerships with support functions such as EHS, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and others to drive improvement in the organization and ensure alignment.
- Develop and implement programs for productivity improvement, cost reduction and quality improvements.
- Holds themselves and others accountable for return on investment of projects and ensures compliance financial reporting rules/regulations within the facility.
- Direct interaction with the union to resolve any conflicts that may occur.
- Ensure factory is executing to ERP schedule.
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor's Degree: BS Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing or related experience
- Demonstrated leadership required to build teams and achieve results
- Proven track record of leading lean initiatives to achieve business results
Preferred
- Experience in rubber related industries
- Experience in continuous flow operational environments
- Experience in a union environment

- Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical, etc) with interest in Manufacturing, if no degree 6 years of experience required
- Manufacturing co-op experience preferred but not required
- Computer literate to support industry standard software applications

- 50% office environment/ 50% manufacturing lineside activity
- 10-15 hours overtime per week possible

Job Purpose
Provide daily leadership and management of all activities for the QSD and SQD line call team. Provide quick response when quality concerns arise, using complex analysis and coordination skill to contain all quality problems within TMP and prevent them from reaching the custome
This is 2nd Shift or B Shift. 3:30 PM - 12:30 AM or 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for team’s monthly, weekly, daily activities (investigations, analysis, testing, path forward, theme leadership, monthly metrics, daily reporting, and quality meetings).
- Make quality judgements using appropriate analysis skills and gauging to compare actual condition to spec. and determine suspect range as needed for out of spec conditions
- Lead containment activity across TMP departments and at frame plants using 3rd party support if needed.
- Analyze parts to Drawind specifications and approve reports
- Conduct transmission repairs and support repair projects on-site, at frame plants, and railheads
- Lead and develop training plans for all line call associates. Conduct associate assessments, monitor progress, and designate trainers.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor/Associate degree in Engineering or relevant work experience required
- 2-6 years of experience based on education, preferred in a Technical or Quality role with 2 years leadership
- Excellent verbal communication, problem solving ability, knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques, clear & concise report writing, strong software and analysis skills
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment. At the spot activity to support investigations, product testing, and re-assembly of missions during repair projects.
- Open office environment
- 5-10 hours of OT each week. OT support required as major quality concerns arise
- Travel to frame plants and railheads as needed (2 to 5 times per year)

Job Purpose
The Electrical Controls Design role provides high quality, reasonably priced, on-time hardware, software, and safety design / assembly / support solutions to ensure stable new model and new technology introduction within the Ohio Transmission Plant's Assembly Department.
Key Accountabilities
- Work in an engineering team atmosphere understand design requirements to create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide Assembly Manufacturing groups with electrical/controls support to maintain daily equipment run rates, downtime occurrences. and provide countermeasure solutions for concern items.
- Assemble, install and commission turnkey automated systems for the AT department BOP projects.

- Knowledge of machine safety regulations.
- Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 79 standards.
- Understand SCCR calculation methods and applicable knowledge of ANSI RIA standards.

Job Purpose
The Electrical Controls Design role provides high quality, reasonably priced, on-time hardware, software, and safety design / assembly / support solutions to ensure stable new model and new technology introduction within the Ohio Transmission Plant's Assembly Department.
Key Accountabilities
- Work in an engineering team atmosphere understand design requirements to create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide Assembly Manufacturing groups with electrical/controls support to maintain daily equipment run rates, downtime occurrences. and provide countermeasure solutions for concern items.

Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Process Engineer Supervisor is responsible for leading the team of engineers who maintain and develop the sequence of assembly and operations standards in the Assembly Department at our East Liberty Auto Plant. - Link to department initiatives in the area of technical expertise; (business plan, investment, FSI, Monozukuri, and Global Mother).
- Understand/manage T-Stage (Trail stage) or mass production design change impact to process design.
- Develop and maintain accuracy of systems required to support production. (Operation Standards, parts, PDDA, time standards, delivery locations, part flows, layouts….etc)
- Design and improve process efficiency for maximum manpower utilization to establish direct process coverage (DPC).
- Develop department sourcing strategies to optimize cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments, factories or experts for development and improvements as well as impact to the department (Packaging, Purchasing, APQ, QIC, New Model, Equipment, Safety, Quality… etc.)
