Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. Purpose of Position: To assist the production Team Leader in daily communication, to coordinate production schedules, assignments and direction of production personnel to expedite the flow of product through the plant in the most efficient manner. Be the front-line leadership of the area/department by coaching and assisting floor personnel to resolve daily issues while always observing personnel behaviors and reporting all code of conduct violations to a supervisor immediately.
Major Responsibilities /Ongoing Tasks:

Review production needs and schedule objectives with Team Leader, communicating them to plant floor personnel through oral or written communication.

Conduct thorough shift handoffs and maintain shift handoff log daily.

Identify and isolate the source of problems whenever possible, taking corrective action with the direction of the production supervisor.

Maintain close interface with cable support groups.

Always monitor quality of product being produced.

Escalate recurring issues to a supervisor, MET and Engineering.

Document issues, resolutions or deviations in the shift handoff.

Ensure and validate product is flowing through the process in the correct order/sequence to maintain on-time schedule performance.

Coach floor personnel on run sequence and report any violations of the run sequence to a supervisor.

Monitors skill levels of personnel suggest training classes/certifications and ensures operators have adequate skills to perform their responsibilities.

Any gaps in training or certification outside of the normal training plan must be communicated to the Team Leader. An example is having a certified operator who is unable to complete task in a safe or efficient manner resulting in potential hazards or inefficiencies.

In the absence of the supervisor and with the assistance of available Manufacturing, resources are responsible for coordinating and directing the cable production operation including normal production supervisor responsibilities excluding disciplinary action or reprimands. If disciplinary actions or other major problem conditions arise, the supervisor or other designated management representative is to be contacted immediately.

Maintains safety and good housekeeping by being directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment.

Job Summary:

+ Responsible for assembling shop papers, MI's and raw materials prior to start up.
+ Start up and change overs are per standard operating procedure
+ Monitor lines while running to ensure quality product, perform necessary PQA checks to ensure product is manufactured to specification.
+ Associates are required to report non conformance
+ Ensure work space is 5S ready, clean and orderly
+ Associates are expected to know performance metrics and work toward targeted objectives
+ May perform weekly associate maintenance.
+ Associates should proactively report any equipment issues as soon as they become aware.
+ Perform preventive maintenance procedures, may occasionally troubleshoot
+ Assist RD&E with experiments as requested
+ Loading and unloading raw materials.
+ Attention to consistent material handling procedures with an awareness of safe material transport according to environmental and hazardous materials protocols
+ Receiving materials to stock, storing, issuing raw materials and miscellaneous items for production use while maintaining inventory accuracy using cycle counts and daily transactions.
+ Properly label and package reels for shipment to customer.
+ Verify QC paper work, barcode and data sheets, with reel tag.
+ Physically inspect reel via traverse, damage, and print statement
+ Work in a team environment to optimize output of quality product, assist others as necessary, and promote safety awareness

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on all relevant machines and posts within the TRACS and Retread facility. In this capacity, maintenance includes cleaning, preventative maintenance, and general up-keep. This position requires compliance with our company tire supplier, OSHA safety standards, and organizational regulations.
What You'll Do on a Typical Day:
- Monitor the programing system for our company tire supplier to ensure that the machines are operating at peak production and quality levels.
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
- Perform preventative maintenance such as inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and running diagnostic tests to avoid production delay.
- Effectively and efficiently replace various parts in order to restore mechanical functionality and decrease production downtime.
- Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures for machines to machine operators.
- Monitor inventory levels for manufacturing equipment and order new parts when necessary.
- As needed, assist the Retread and or TRACS department with various needs.
- Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE and demonstrate safety conscious mindset.
- Demonstrate excellent attendance, show up to work on time and in the correct uniform.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures, and values of Snider Fleet Solutions.
- Write routine reports and correspondence documents
- This role requires a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed. Weekend work will be required at times, to facilitate repairs while the equipment is off line.
- Responsible for the electrical, mechanical, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment within the facility.
- Analytically troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
- Routinely check the performance of mechanical and electrical equipment, perform assigned PM's.
- Maintain maintenance records and inspection reports.
- Employee must follow all PPE policies, lock out tag out and safety rules.
- Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production.
- This position may require operating a Forklift, Gantry Crane, Man lift and hoist.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Education or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years' experience within the industry or a related management position.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- An electrical certification, mechanical or technical degree with at least five years of experience in Industrial maintenance & repair required.
- Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards.

- Welding experience is preferred.
- Experience with Air Compressor maintenance and repair is a plus.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and preferably some exposure to PLC software.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with operating personnel in order to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
