Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and production processes based on specifications.
- Utilize historical data and collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine estimates.
- Support the engineering team by gathering and analyzing relevant data from drawings and specifications.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and customer service teams to ensure project costs are accurate and within budget.
- Maintain and update a cost database for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Assist in preparing proposals, tracking project budgets, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Provide insights on cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation in estimating processes.
- Perform other duties as required by the VP of Engineering.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications.

The schedule for this role will start out on day shift until the Williamsburg Township facility reaches operation. Once operational, the schedule will switch to operating on a 2-2-3 model (two days on, two days off, three days on) with shifts options on either 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.
This position may require travel up to 25% for training purposes to other Nestle Purina operating facilities until the Williamsburg Township facility reaches operation and/or you are fully qualified in your role. There will be little to no travel required once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational.
The starting pay for this position is $26.91/hr., with a progression plan that provides for the ability to earn wages up to $3.12/hr., based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. Quality professional to support external-facing quality records related to raw material suppliers. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing deviations, change controls, and CAPAs using systems like TrackWise or Veeva. A strong grasp of root cause analysis and investigation review is essential. Candidates should have a background in biotech or medical device industries, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, remote environment. Bachelors Degree is best but associate-degree holders with deep experience (10+ years) will be considered. Overqualified individuals (e.g., former directors or PhDs) and those without relevant quality records experience should not be submitted.
Quality records experience working with suppliers would be a home run candidate.
Basic project management skills required.
The Specialist Manufacturing is expected to own and execute under minor supervision all the processes related to deviations (minor and majors), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), CAPA-Effectiveness Verifications, Supplier Event Notifications and Investigations (SICAR /EN), and Change Control quality records. This Specialist Manufacturing will act as the External Supply representative across functional teams and drive closure of quality records in a timely manner. The Specialist Manufacturing, External Supply owns and manages quality records originating from manufacturing sites across the network. In addition, this role will be the main External Supply quality record owner point of contact for New Albany, OH site.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Address and close quality records (Deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), CAPA-Effectiveness Verifications, Supplier Event Notifications and Investigations (SICAR /EN), and Change Control) under the company's quality management system procedures and ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
+ Monitors and investigate deviations owned by External Supply and implements corrective / preventive actions. Partner cross-functionally across the site to ensure maturity and execution of robust Deviations / CAPA process
+ Build and present quality records summaries for Senior Management review. Provide timely and comprehensive process and status updates to senior management

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Support new initiatives and productivity targets for given manufacturing processes. Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. + Coordinates cross-functional teams to execute and document the manufacturing launch of new/legacy products

+ Develops and completes manufacturing documentation (pFMEA, control plan, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans)
+ Drives machine/equipment efficiency thru cycle time reduction, waste elimination, tooling improvements, and changeover reductions

Position Overview / Summary
Metalex is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Manufacturing Engineer that will be directly engaged and responsible for creating and developing technical manufacturing plans to achieve exceptional quality and best value for complex precision machined components and assemblies for Customers across a diverse group of industries including Space, Energy, Defense, Aerospace, Marine and Consumer Goods.
As a key leader within our technical manufacturing team at Metalex, you will have a dynamic role, engaging with Customers, outside suppliers and subcontractors, as well as every internal functional area of the company including Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing, Quotation and Sales. You will be providing critical support to Customer and teammates throughout the project life cycle to ensure we deliver exceptional quality and best overall value for our customers and our company.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer is to create, develop and optimize technical manufacturing processes to achieve exceptional quality, efficiency and throughput at the best possible cost for the precision manufacturing of complex components and assemblies.
· Review customer purchase orders, drawings and quality specifications.
· Develop detailed manufacturing process routers (mfg plans) to meet customer requirements
· Work with programmers and machinists to develop machining and work holding strategy
· Develop fixturing concepts and designs in CAD, 3D Design and/or create operational sketches (Siemens NX)
· Review special processing requirements and incorporate into process planning
· Interact with customers and vendors to support requirements of project
· Coordinate technical manufacturing startup activities by engaging teammates internally within Metalex and and outside suppliers, to ensure all components and final assemblies meet quality and performance specifications
· Manage projects using engineering principles
· Maintain and oversee detail of all engineering manufacturing documentation (Routers, Drawings, etc).
· Evaluate existing systems and processes and modify as appropriate to improve performance.
· Partner with Quality to resolve issues and as needed perform root cause and corrective action for Non-Conformances
· Achieve product profitability goals by completing projects within required time constraints while meeting all quality, cost and delivery targets. Constantly be searching for new and innovative ways to drive down the total cost of manufacturing.
· Support Metalex company culture, by operating in a self-directed manner, consistently demonstrating leadership and taking initiative to make yourself, your teammates and the company better each day.
Requirements and QUALIFICATIONS:
· Four-year engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
· Minimum 8 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience working in Job Shop, Aerospace or industrial environment
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processing methods (milling, turning, grinding, welding, EDM, Assembly, etc), metal material science, CNC programming, CMM and Manual Inspection.
· Working knowledge of special processes such as plating, NDT and Heat treatment of materials a plus
· Strong at reading customer prints / specifications with practical hands-on application of GD&T principles
· Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with limited supervision and a positive, can-do attitude
· Organized and detail oriented, with proven logical thinking and problem solving skills
· Strong Project management, team building, and leadership skills.
· Able to work independently, with very good verbal and written communication skills.
· Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools
· Experience with NX 12 a plus.
· Comfortable working directly with Customers
