INVISTA's Seaford facility has been proudly producing Nylon fibers for over 75 years. Our Team

Spinning : This team is monitoring the spinning process to ensure it runs efficiently and safely, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime, and conducting quality checks to ensure the fibers meet specifications. This team works a 12-hour rotating schedule commonly known as the Dupont Schedule. The schedule is designed to allow for 24/7 operations, while also providing employees with longer off days and a more predictable work pattern.

Finishing : These machine operators manage the finishing equipment (Drawing Machines, Balers, and Cutters) and possess the ability to continually develop the capability and knowledge of the associated processes in support of Finishing and Site operations. This team works a Mon - Fri rotating 8-hour shift (12a-8a, 8a-4p, 4p-12a).

What You Will Do

  • Read and properly apply procedures and perform quality checks on machines and other equipment.
  • Safely operate manufacturing equipment primarily in the production area.
  • Identify and segregate products according to quality standards
  • Data entry into multiple computer systems
  • Take corrective actions per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Perform general and detailed housekeeping
  • Work with minimal supervisory guidance and function in a team environment to accomplish area goals
  • Perform job-related tasks in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Think critically and resolve problems
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to change well, and be resourceful in problem-solving on a routine basis
  • Use Mechanical Aptitude for maintenance work
  • Help transform areas with Ownership-Based Work Systems.

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay range for this role is $22.00 - 23.00 per hour.

The Quality Control Associate Specialist is responsible for independently performing advanced laboratory procedures to test veterinary biologicals in compliance with strict governmental and company guidelines. This role involves working with a variety of technical equipment and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The associate specialist must have a thorough understanding of scientific principles behind testing procedures and the materials being evaluated (e.g., virus, bacteria, cell line).
**Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):**
+ Consistently demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
+ Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
+ Perform quality control testing using various cell culture, substrates, and viruses, according to established procedures.
+ Troubleshoot test methods and assist in the development and implementation of new procedures.
+ Maintain accurate and concurrent documentation, including charts, logbooks, and records.
+ Participate in project teams and lead or support special projects.

**Education Requirement:**
+ Minimum: Associate degree in a scientific discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
+ Preferred: Bachelor's degree in microbiology, Biology or a related field.
**Required Experience and Skills:**
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks for effectively.
+ Experience with microscopic analysis and microbiological assays.
+ Strong understanding of GMP regulations and good documentation practices.
