Estimator Position

We are searching for an Estimator who will be responsible for preparing metal fabrication quotations by analyzing customer requirements, technical drawings and associated specifications. Understanding current (and evolving) capabilities, he/she will develop bills of material and routings with internal and external supply partners and support implementation of new programs. The Estimator works closely with Sales, Engineering and Operations to support our customers. Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with ISO9001, ITAR, OSHA, DNR, other applicable standards and Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Maintain the estimating records, supplier database and related documentation
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of various projects
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Degree in manufacturing or supply chain preferred
  • 3-5 years of estimating experience desired, 1-3 years of project management experience desired
  • Manufacturing experience and supplier relationships desired, metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Able to interpret and analyze customer blueprints, specifications and tolerances
  • Well organized, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and self-directed to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicates internally and externally to gather information, develop alternatives and pursue actions
  • Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely and successfully perform the job functions
  • Must be able to travel locally 5-10% of the time
  • Must be able to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 Lbs.

Job Description
The role of a Manufacturing Engineer blends product design with process improvement. This position is responsible for developing new part designs using SolidWorks to enhance installation efficiency, build quality, and reduce warranty claims. The engineer will also support final assembly and sales teams with production and layout drawings.
Responsibilities
+ Develop new part designs using SolidWorks to improve installation efficiency and build quality.
+ Create detailed and layout drawings for production.
+ Collaborate with materials and chassis procurement teams.
+ Analyze and streamline production processes to eliminate waste.
+ Ensure proper fitment of parts during installation.
+ Support final assembly and sales teams with production and layout drawings.
+ Work through shop floor issues alongside other Manufacturing Engineers.
Essential Skills
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience with SolidWorks for developing new products and creating detailed drawings.
+ Process improvement and waste reduction experience.
+ Ability to read and comprehend part drawings, wiring, and hydraulic schematics.
+ Understanding of 12V electrical and hydraulic plumbing systems.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Welding skills are a huge plus for building fixtures and templates.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ 2+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks.
+ Ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $31.25/hr.
