Estimator Position

We are searching for an Estimator who will be responsible for preparing metal fabrication quotations by analyzing customer requirements, technical drawings and associated specifications. Understanding current (and evolving) capabilities, he/she will develop bills of material and routings with internal and external supply partners and support implementation of new programs. The Estimator works closely with Sales, Engineering and Operations to support our customers. They model and support our company culture and values, ensuring estimating functions in a safe manner to deliver compelling quotes accurately and on time. Duties and responsibilities:

• Lead, model and promote a culture of honesty, integrity, teamwork, responsibility, adaptability and continuous learning and improvement with the highest ethics
• Ability to read and analyze blueprints, customer specifications and other documents to prepare time, material, and labor cost estimates
• Ensure customers' intellectual property is protected when information is shared with partners
• Compute costs by identifying materials, purchased items, fabrication processes and time requirements using software and established rates
• Work with Purchasing to solicit and collect material costs
• Cultivate effective long-term relationships with Suppliers and Subcontractors
• Work with Engineering to identify optimal material utilization and fabrication methods
• Work with Operations to establish accurate fabrication rates and options for fabrication
• Manage metrics for continuous improvement: activity, win/loss ratio, turnaround time and project and/or customer profitability
• Regularly review Job Costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process
• Communicate variances and pursue alternatives to meet planned margin levels
• Review and recommend updates to work center rates and rate tables
• For large or unique quotes, coordinate initial order entry, manufacturing and fulfillment with Customer Service and Operations
• Support compliance with ISO9001, ITAR, OSHA, DNR, other applicable standards and Non-Disclosure Agreements
• Maintain the estimating records, supplier database and related documentation
• Oversee the planning and implementation of various projects
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Degree in manufacturing or supply chain preferred
• 3-5 years of estimating experience desired, 1-3 years of project management experience desired
• Manufacturing experience and supplier relationships desired, metal fabrication experience preferred
• Able to interpret and analyze customer blueprints, specifications and tolerances
• Well organized, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and self-directed to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Effectively communicates internally and externally to gather information, develop alternatives and pursue actions
• Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely and successfully perform the job functions
• Must be able to travel locally 5-10% of the time
• Must be able to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 Lbs.

Process, test, and optimize manufacturing and extrusion processes for new and existing products to reduce operating costs, labor, and product variability while increasing yields.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the design, development, assembly, debugging, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, extrusion tooling, and secondary equipment for new and existing products.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
The role of a Manufacturing Engineer is to blend product design with process improvement. The engineer will be responsible for developing new part designs using SolidWorks to enhance installation efficiency, build quality, and reduce warranty claims. This position involves creating detailed and layout drawings, collaborating with the materials and chassis procurement teams, and analyzing production processes to eliminate waste while ensuring proper part fitment during installation.
Responsibilities
+ Develop new part designs using SolidWorks to enhance efficiency and quality.
+ Create detailed and layout drawings for production.
+ Collaborate with materials and chassis procurement teams.
+ Analyze and streamline production processes to eliminate waste.
+ Ensure proper fitment of parts during installation.
+ Support final assembly and sales teams with production and layout drawings.
+ Work through issues on the shop floor alongside other Manufacturing Engineers.
+ Engage in heavy shadowing with the goal of developing into a higher-level Manufacturing Engineer.
Essential Skills
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to think through problems.
+ Experience with SolidWorks for developing new products and creating drawings.
+ Process improvement and waste reduction strategies.
+ Ability to read and comprehend part drawings, wiring, and hydraulic schematics.
+ Understanding of 12V electrical and hydraulic plumbing systems.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
+ Ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Welding skills are beneficial for projects and fixture/template building.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred, but associates or relevant work experience also considered.
+ 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ 2+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks.
Work Environment
The work environment may expose the employee to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. There may be occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. The noise level is typically moderate to loud. The role requires adaptability within a matrix organization, and reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $31.25/hr.
