Plastipak is seeking dedicated Manufacturing Technicians to operate cutting-edge production machines and equipment in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at our Jackson Center, OH location.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Operating extrusion and blow-molding manufacturing production machines and equipment.

  • Monitoring and adjusting production machine settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure) to keep production running smoothly.

  • Troubleshooting machines and doing basic maintenance.

  • Checking product quality to assure it meets customer specifications (e.g., bottle weights, dimensions).

  • Teaming up with your co-workers to find smarter ways to do things.

  • Learning new skills with hands-on training and career development opportunities.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • At least 1 year of experience operating manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment.

  • Mechanical inclination – you like to fix things, use tools, work with your hands.

  • Knowledge of extrusion or blow molding machines and equipment is a plus!

  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electromechanical systems is a plus!

  • Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation.

What You’ll Earn:

  • $20+/hr, depending on experience

  • $1.50 more per hour for Night Shift.

Job Description

Manufacturing Mechanic Objective
To perform installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and equipment within the manufacturing facility. This full-time role offers opportunities to expand technical skills while ensuring optimal equipment performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
+ Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems
+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
+ Install, dismantle, and relocate equipment according to facility needs
+ Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
+ Fabricate and install support structures for machinery when needed
+ Monitor equipment performance and document maintenance activities
+ Follow all safety protocols and procedures in an industrial environment
+ Respond promptly to emergency repair situations
+ Maintain accurate records of repairs, part replacements, and equipment history
Requirements
+ 2-3 years minimum experience as a millwright, maintenance mechanic, or similar role
+ Previous manufacturing experience required
+ High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification preferred
+ Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and power tools
+ Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
+ Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
+ Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various positions
+ Valid driver's license
+ Willingness to work overtime or off-hours when necessary for critical repairs

**What's the Job?**
+ Assist engineers in developing, testing, and optimizing manufacturing procedures and equipment
+ Set up and operate manufacturing machinery following safety and quality standards
+ Conduct tests and experiments to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes
+ Monitor production lines, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
+ Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement initiatives
**What's Needed?**
+ Associate degree or technical certificate in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
+ 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or related environment
+ Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation
+ Strong mechanical skills and hands-on experience
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively within a team
