Our facility in Kansas City, MO is hiring **Manufacturing Operators** . The **Manufacturing Operator** is responsible for the efficient set up and tear down, operation, and cleaning of all equipment and processes associated with manufacturing operations.
**This is a full-time, hourly position and is 100% onsite. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM.**
**The Role**
+ Responsible for the set-up, operation, and clean-up of cGMP manufacturing equipment.
+ Responsible for ensuring cGMP compliance and generally good housekeeping.
+ Responsible for the consistent maintenance and upkeep of all machinery, material, and manufacturing environments.
+ Responsible for ensuring products are visually inspected and meet all quality requirements.
+ Responsible for accurate upkeep and creation of cGMP documentation.
+ Other duties, as assigned.
**The Candidate**
+ High School Diploma or General Education Diploma is required.
+ Prior experience in machine or equipment operations and troubleshooting is highly preferred.
+ Mechanical knowledge is highly preferred.
+ Well organized with ability to multitask and to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines is highly desired.
+ Individuals may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

**The Job You Will Perform:**
The Manufacturing Associate performs a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment
The Manufacturing Associate must follow all safety rules and procedures; watch out for self and team member's safety at all times. Always follow lock out and tag out, MSK, and always use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes & safety vest, others as required). Must understand and carry out housekeeping standards. Must demonstrate teamwork and resolve issues effectively and professionally. Must be capable of running machine at safe speeds and top quality to meet customer needs.
**Primary Manufacturing Associate duties/responsibilities include:**
+ following all safety rules and practices;
+ reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements;
+ identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders;
+ performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met;
+ assisting other associates as needed;
+ accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment;
+ inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications;
+ identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials;
+ accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;
+ keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations;
+ maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;
+ maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other associates; and
+ Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
**Qualifications:**
+ The qualifications for Manufacturing Associates are the ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Demonstrated ability to detect, prevent, and resolve quality issues, involving the Operator or management for resolution of issues or confirming quality expectations as needed. Must be able to read a standard tape measure, read and thoroughly understand job specifications, and follow written and oral directions. Must be a self-starter, able to operate from directions or independently as needed. Demonstrated ability to add and subtract all units of measure read and copy figures, and count and record figures. A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in English in written or oral form and to deal with problems. Constant standing, walking, and reaching at or below shoulder level; frequent twisting, bending, and lifting from the ground; repetitive lifting up to 35 pounds. Must be willing and able to work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as business conditions require. Must be willing to accept direction from the Operator to insure the most efficient operation possible. All other duties as assigned.

Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)

· Support production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.

· Create & maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Standard Operating Procedures and Line Balance documentation.

· Meet or exceed labor content standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics.

· Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies, cell layout enhancements and update Master CAD layouts.

· Support and develop department or maintenance projects / activities with good engineering direction. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and/or Six Sigma activities.

· Facilitate process/continued improvement.

· Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.

· Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems. Implement interim processes as required to correct or contain all non-conformances.

· Working knowledge of manufacturing/mechanical processes and equipment (PLC, torque tools and equipment).

· Document all activities as required.

· Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.

· Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.

Limits of Authority

· Advise Department Manager of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.

· Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.

· Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.

· Initiate, recommend or provide solutions thought the appropriate channels and verify implementation.

· Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.

· Initiate project RFQ’s with supporting documentation to be signed.

· Quote / negotiate pricing and timing from vendors for equipment and tooling.

· Maintain and obtain approvals for facility layouts and process documentation.

· Assist and support project management timelines.

Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required

· 2-year minimum college education and 1 year of experience in manufacturing and assembly operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Skills in labor analysis (time studies)

· AutoCAD experience

· PLC understanding

· Windows Applications (Excel, Word, Project, Management, PowerPoint)

· Good mechanical / technical skills

· Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills
