SUMMARY

Plansand delivers curriculum within the Precision Manufacturing Technology programbased on established standards. Teaches a full range of noncredit lecture andlab courses in the Precision Machining Technology programs. Courses include,but are not limited to: Blueprint Reading, Spatial Visualization, Applied(Machining) Math, Manual Machining, CNC

Machining, Machine Tool Theory,CAD/CAM, and Quality Control. Performs student learning outcome assessment tomake continuous improvements in learning outcomes. Actively engages in thepromotion of workplace health and safety-related areas. Collaborates with otherinstructors and staff to provide appropriate learning opportunities forstudents.

Monitors students while they practice within the machining lab.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes
  • Provides a learning environment appropriate for enhancing academic progress
  • Provides instructional methodologies consistent with student needs within the program guidelines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering or manufacturing/industrial engineering technology
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a machinist or other related role within industry

•    Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment. 

•    Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.

The manufacturing technician is responsible for performing the assigned multi-skilled tasks in the production and processing of silicone rubber compounds, primarily in the manufacturing plant areas.

Responsibilities

  • Measure all raw, in process, and finished materials in an accurate manner. Record weights neatly and accurately.
  • Follow all mix instructions explicitly and sign off on each instruction according to standard procedure.
  • Use all production equipment and hand tools in a safe and proper manner. Bring any hazards to the team leads attention immediately.
  • Follow the Stop, Call, Wait and all other safety procedures explicitly in all aspects of the operation.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Clean all production equipment and work areas adjacent to equipment between batches and at end of the shift. Move all scrap, empty containers, and production waste to the proper disposal area. Maintain and clean tools or other aids and store in the proper location.
  • Package out material when batch process is complete.
  • Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO-9000 work procedures as needed.
  • Maintain good communication with oncoming shift.
  • Utilize maintenance work order system to communicate any repairs needed to equipment or to resolve an unsafe situation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Perform engineering assignments by applying basic engineering principles, and following specific procedures, standards and methods
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Adhere to contract technical requirements while developing, and maintaining, step-by-step process plans in the manufacturing of Control Rod Drive Mechanisms.
+ Monitor manufacturing processes and implement improvements to ensure processes are safe, maintain high quality and are performed efficiently to meet delivery and cost requirements.
+ Generate SAP routings based on step-by-step process plans.

+ Work with other internal departments, customer and vendors to resolve issues encountered during the manufacturing process.

+ Participate in R&D projects by providing technical support to assure prototypical hardware meets guidelines.
+ Assist in technical training of new hires.
+ Minor business travel may be required.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology degree, is preferred.
+ Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing or machining (specifically CNC) experience is required.
+ Strong communications skills, and ability to work with multiple disciplines in support of manufacturing production hardware.
