**The Job:**
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten, a primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace, working as an on-site employee. As the Manufacturing Engineer, an entry level position, in our Columbia, CT facility, you will help support the engineering team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and grow skills in various disciplines. i.e. Manual and CNC machining, drafting, modeling, additive manufacturing (3D printing), Inspection methods, non-destructive testing, process improvement, product requirements, etc. Your job responsibilities will include:
+ Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products and processes.
+ Research customer specifications, and new processes.
+ Troubleshoot existing shop floor processes, tools, and equipment.
+ Design tooling for new and improving existing processes.
+ Produce engineering drawings for new products.
+ Interact with customers, operators, sales reps and vendors.
+ Review and implement manufacturing drawing and engineering change notices.
+ Evaluate data and product specifications to determine the feasibility of product proposal.
+ Analyze data and reports to determine if design meets specifications.
+ Reduce waste and increase capacity/efficiency through application of continuous improvement tools (i.e. structured problem solving, setup reduction, organization and standardization of machining centers, mistake-proofing in tool/fixture design).

+ An associate's degree is required. Bachelor's degree in engineering, metallurgy or materials science preferred.

+ Working knowledge of manufacturing methods _,_ concepts, processes, and systems.
+ Solid analytical skills and the ability to define and brainstorm solutions to problems.
+ Training in Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Tools preferred.
+ Product prototyping, qualification and/or testing experience preferred.
+ Familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 quality standards preferred.
+ Working knowledge of CAD software, SolidWorks, and/or NX is preferred.

**Position Overview:**
The Associate of Manufacturing will support commercial, clinical, and product launch activities in a regulated, high-performance production environment. This role involves hands-on manufacturing responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and teamwork.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Set up, clean, and sanitize manufacturing equipment
+ Accurately weigh and prepare buffers/media per manufacturing procedures
+ Operate within GMP-compliant guidelines and maintain strict adherence to safety
+ Conduct in-process sampling and operate basic analytical equipment
+ Perform parts washing and sterilization
+ Maintain a clean, organized workspace in a controlled cleanroom setting
+ Wear appropriate PPE, including full gowning, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
+ Participate in documentation updates and quality deviation reporting
+ Review and maintain accurate records (equipment logs, batch records)
+ Operate near high-pressure systems and use powered industrial vehicles safely

Specific responsibilities include bioreactor sampling activities, cleaning equipment, steaming equipment, and prepping equipment. Skills: Biotech US/DS manufacturing experience, preferably cell culture; understanding of measurements, calculations and the metric system ; basic GMP knowledge. Understanding of Electric Batch Records, DeltaV, and LIMS .
Basic Qualifications:
Associate degree OR High school diploma / GED and 1 year of Manufacturing or Operations experience
Top Must Have Skill Sets:
Day to Day Responsibilities:
