What You will Do:
  • Assisting manufacturing engineers in various tasks, including process development, production design, and troubleshooting
  • Review old manufacturing books and reprint new ones due to the low demand
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas of improvement, and assisting with implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Identify the old manufacturing book that requires it to be modified to the attention of the Manufacturing Engineer
  • Follow up with the process owners requiring a signature on zero hour returns (ZHR) documentation to be paired up with the manufacturer's part
  • Create and Maintain detailed documentation of the manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the manufacturing processes, working with the Manufacturing Engineers to find solutions
Work Experience

How You Will Get Here:
  • Associate degree in manufacturing engineering technology or related field. or 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or automotive. College graduates may be considered
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • The ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Clear and concise communication skills are essential for interacting with engineers, technicians, and other team members
  • Meticulous attention to detail is necessary for tasks such as documentation
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and data entry systems)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work
Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in Rome, NY
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic, and safe workstation and tooling designs.

  • Create and reconcile manufacturing documentation as required by the various operating procedures such as manufacturing bills of material, labor routings, manufacturing process documentation, production, and tooling projects, etc.
  • Remain current in new Manufacturing Engineering technology, new manufacturing techniques and new equipment. Identify and recommend improved methods where relevant.
  • Train others and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to implement changes.
  • Demonstrate successful Project Management techniques and abilities by combining Engineering skills and people skills.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events based on VSM Roadmaps.
  • Lead initiatives to improve Operating Margins.
  • Serves as back up to the Design Engineer for both straps and webbing.
  • Assist with quality compliance and internal audits.
  • Perform all duties and tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor to support the entire effort of Sturges Manufacturing in the successful delivery of quality products to its customers.

Education & Qualifications :

  • A.S. in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience interpreting Technical Drawings.
  • Experience in AutoCAD or similar CAD Software
  • Experience in SolidWorks preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of cutting tool design and jig & fixture design for production applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, math, microcomputer/keyboarding and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with AS9100 Quality Standards and practices preferred.
  • Creative thinker, able to strategize with forward thinking to raise the bar in the manufacturing process.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team

As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll oversee wafer production from inception to completion, working with engineers and stakeholders to achieve world class cycle times. You will work with a manufacturing execution system and multiple rep.

You will work a 12-hour night shift or day shift with a "3on-4off-4on-3off" alternating schedule. This shift will be Backend Nights: Wednesday-Friday and every other Saturday, 6:00pm-6:15am. Technicians working 12-hour shifts are eligible to receive a shift differential of up to 15%, as well as overtime and bonus eligibility.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Operate, and routinely qualify, equipment in various semiconductor process areas such as photolithography, etch, CVD, PVD, metrology, and others.
  • Perform logistic tasks such as wafer unpacking, releasing to process, and packing.
  • Maintain a presence in the Operations Command Center. Monitor and evaluate operating data to ensure optimized wafer movement in the fabricator.


This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
  • Ability to stand for 6 hours at a time, wear full clean room attire, and lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and Outlook. The ability to multitask using multiple computer screens at the same time.

The NPI Manufacturing Engineer partners with Design Engineering to analyze and refine new product designs for manufacturability, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to production. This role develops and optimizes manufacturing systems-including equipment, tooling, fixtures, and processes-to meet targets for cost, quality, volume, and schedule. **What You Will Do**
+ Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
+ Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
+ Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
+ May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
+ Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
+ Analyzes designs and provides feedback and suggested changes for component layouts.
+ Consulted for the quality of new designs relative to compatibility to the intended manufacturing processes.
+ Supports and/or facilitates RLPM Management Plans to ensure Operations requirements are considered. (Manufacturing Transition & Build Plan), DTC+ (Design to Cost Plus), Producibility Tenets
+ Supports activities involving variability reduction to identify and mitigate process and product risk (DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.).
+ Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
+ Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing mechanical and basic electrical maintenance across our production equipment and facility systems. What You’ll Do
You’ll play a vital role in keeping our equipment and infrastructure in peak condition during our 2nd shift operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain machines such as molding machines, packaging equipment, CNC Machines, air compressors, robotic units, and other automated/manual equipment.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Perform tool, jig, and fixture repairs to ensure product quality and process consistency
  • Maintain facility systems including chilled water systems
  • Monitor and complete preventive maintenance (PM) plans and maintain PM records
  • Organize and manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment and molding machines
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Comply with all OSHA, EPA, and internal safety and maintenance protocols

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated individual with:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of mechanical industrial maintenance experience, or 2 years of vocational/technical certificate training plus 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong understanding of machine setup, tool operations, and fabrication techniques
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with injection/blow molding, automation, presses, welders, and assembly lines, is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., bend, kneel, and reach overhead
  • Flexibility to work overtime or travel between nearby facilities when needed
