Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting production operations, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring product quality in our cold heading department. This role involves close collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot production challenges, and support customer inquiries on new products.
Responsibilities
+ Develop, evaluate, and improve cold heading and forming processes for production efficiency and quality.
+ Troubleshoot process and tooling issues on the production floor.
+ Design and specify tooling and equipment for new and existing parts.
+ Work with Quality and Production teams to reduce scrap and downtime.
+ Analyze production data and recommend improvements.
+ Assist with machine setup procedures and process documentation.
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
+ Support new product development and process validation.
+ Collaborate with customers and vendors on technical requirements and improvements.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Minimum 2-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (cold heading or metal forming strongly preferred).
+ Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
+ Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing, SPC, and root cause analysis.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in fastener manufacturing.
+ Familiarity with cold heading machines (e.g., National, Waterbury, or Sacma) and tooling.
+ Knowledge of heat treating, plating, and secondary operations.
+ Experience working in an ISO-certified environment.

Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves reviewing production outputs, creating action plans, and maximizing efficiency on the shop floor. You will be responsible for owning the output and ensuring that production processes are optimized and issues are resolved promptly.
Responsibilities
+ Understand the product and its intended operation, assisting production, maintenance, and quality in debugging production processes.
+ Prepare and revise Process Flow Diagrams, Operation Sheets, and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Monitor and analyze production processes to improve performance, efficiency, and reject rates.
+ Support resolution of technical issues and report on current technical issues and status during weekly meetings or management reviews.
+ Lead Failure Analysis efforts related to production issues, performance issues, and critical characteristics.
+ Generate Requests for Process Change forms and manage them through the approval process.
+ Generate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variance (RFVs) as needed.
+ Serve as the main internal technical point of contact for assigned programs.
+ Support Configuration Control of the Technical Data Packages associated with the products produced.
+ Define process control requirements, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), for production processes.
+ Participate in risk assessment for production operations.
+ Engage in Build Readiness Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Production Readiness Reviews.
+ Participate in line setup, including layout, flow, equipment, and storage.
+ Request and issue Shop Work Order numbers.
+ Build and analyze test samples to understand design margin and product performance variation.
+ Create and lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for assigned programs.
+ Build pre-FAAT, pilot, and engineering test samples.
+ Support customer technical requests and questions, providing resultant effects to production processes and performance.
+ Assist Quality and Purchasing in resolving supplier issues.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, defense industry experience preferred.
+ Experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, and manufacturing process optimization.
+ Proficient in value stream mapping, SPC, process audits, and new product launches.
+ Ambitious, hands-on, and capable of quick thinking in a fast-paced environment.
+ Familiarity with automated manufacturing processes and assembly cells.
+ Proven track record of owning processes and lines from start to finish.
+ Experience in time studies and cycle time calculations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High volume and automated manufacturing process experience.
+ Experience with low mix/high volume assembly processes.
+ Knowledge in tooling design, Minitab, Lean Manufacturing, assembly, automation, PFMEA, ammunition, new product launch, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Solidworks.
+ Four-year degree is not necessary; relevant experience is key.

Join our client`s nationally recognized restoration company as the Copper Studio Director , leading the production of custom copper and architectural metal products for historic restoration projects across the U.S. The role will be reporting to the COO and combines hands-on shop leadership , team development , and production excellence to deliver exceptional craftsmanship on high-profile projects such as state capitols, universities, and historic landmarks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and document end to end production process from order to delivery. Provide feedback on quality requirements.

Our Manufacturing Engineers are critical members of plant core teams, including the Plant Managers, Production Controllers, Manufacturing Operators, Finance Department and Quality Department. Our Manufacturing Engineers are the owners of our Product and Process Development. They also lead new product launches within our plants. + Create 2D and/or 3D models for heading and rolling tools used in manufacturing of metal fasteners.
+ Create process routing and bills of material for newly awarded business.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
+ Minimum 3-4 years' experience in the manufacturing industry; product and/or tooling development for metal manufacturing (fastener) experience required.
+ Experience in automotive industry is highly beneficial.
+ Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes.

• Coordinate with Accounting Department to track and analyze all Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) on Monthly Basis and at the project level. Monthly Division Operational Income Statement.
• Review and Analyze project budgets with Leadership Team Monthly.
• Identify and Implement Operational Improvements and Growth Opportunities through products and capital improvements.
• Help build out pricing models and forecast both total revenue and gross profit percentage.
• Help build the copper studio social media presence and Website/Storefront Development.
• Establish standard catalog of products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A.S/B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• 5 -10 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or job-shop environment; experience with sheet metal or copper fabrication preferred.
• Passion for craftsmanship, historical preservation, and delivering high-quality components.
• Strong project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
• Demonstrated experience improving operational efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Proficient in analyzing financial data, including COGS and income statements.
• Technology: Proficiency in various software, including Microsoft Office Suite, project management, CAD.
• Experience with pricing model development, product catalog creation, and e-commerce/website storefront management.
• Ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities through new products, services, and markets.

We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering team with the development, assembly, and testing of prototype products and production equipment. This includes processing Task Requests, refurbishing and testing machinery, and maintaining detailed records of engineering studies and tests. You will also assist with writing procedures, developing process control plans, and training production employees on new machines and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Engineering with the development, assembly, and testing of prototype products and production equipment.

• Process Task Requests for Product Development work.

• Perform machine refurbishment and testing to support manufacturing.

• Safely handle chemicals using prescribed PPE.

• Maintain accurate records and data of engineering studies, tests, and drawings.

• Identify and document deviations in performance not anticipated in test procedures.

• Assist in writing procedures and work instructions for machines and processes.

• Develop process control plans, PFMEAs, and flow charts.

• Train production employees on new machines and processes as needed.

• Comply with quality systems procedures and documentation requirements.

• Conduct tests on electrical or electro-mechanical parts for prototypes and competitor products.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree in a technical field is a plus.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• High attention to detail.

• Strong math and communication skills (written and verbal).

• Valid driver's license to travel between facilities.

• Working knowledge of gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and various measuring devices.

• Mechanical aptitude.
