Supports the manufacturing processes relative to the department/area in which they are assigned. Operate manufacturing equipment based on the established written procedures and work rules. Responsible for product quality and safety on the assigned line and for achieving production standards in both quantity and quality. Understand and follow cGMP and safety guidelines as required. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Perform light cleaning in order to maintain clean operating environment. Write maintenance summaries of assembly and workstation areas as needed. Execute quality checks in accordance to department/area requirements and document findings. Stocking, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal may be included. Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Technician works on various operations activities to meet productivity goals. Fiber Global has four (4) levels of Manufacturing Technician positions which are based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee in alignment with what is required for the areas and functions of responsibility. This may include preparing, staging, handling, and moving production materials and finished products around the factory. Additionally, performing preventative and recovery maintenance repairs involving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment may be expected depending on the technician level. Technicians at the highest level will also be expected to be proficient in diagnosing and solving PLC faults, performing sensor replacements and adjustments, and are experienced in efficiently performing heavy repairs on automated equipment under pressure and short timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works in alignment with Fiber Global’s core values of Purpose, Integrity, Progress, and Collaboration

  • Level 1 skill expectations
    • Operate equipment, machines, vehicles, and hand tools in accordance with safety and standards
    • Perform minor and preventative maintenance, such as lubricating bushings or adjusting conveyor belts
    • Safely and efficiently use equipment such as forklifts to move materials between various production stations within the factory
    • Stage materials that will be used for production, or finished products for outbound logistics
    • Load raw materials into production equipment and machines, load finished goods into shipping containers and trailers, and unload raw materials into the factory
    • Facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs partnering with senior manufacturing technicians
    • Support with overall industrial cleaning activities of the factory
  • Level 2 skill expectations
    • All of level 1, plus the following:
    • Perform downtime impactful preventative and recovery maintenance on mechanical equipment, such as motor diagnosis and replacement
    • Troubleshoot equipment issues using technical manuals, schematics, and other sources
    • Monitoring and adjusting temperatures, viscosity, metering scale, and sequencing for materials used in production
    • Ensuring fluidity of material movement to prevent system and motor seizing
  • Level 3 skill expectations
    • All of level 1 and 2, plus the following:
    • Perform preventative and recovery maintenance that may require extensive diagnosis and/or major overhaul
    • Utilizing equipment such as scissor lift, ability to do rigging
    • Ability to weld to industry standard (MIG)
    • Ability to perform preventative and recovery maintenance on pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
    • Ability to visually and/or physically inspect equipment to predict remaining useful life
    • Create and maintain documentation and user guides to support the production and engineering teams on maintenance requirements for equipment
    • Support the training of production and engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot and/or address basic maintenance
  • Level 4 skill expectations
    • All of level 1, 2, and 3 plus the following:
    • Diagnose and solve PLC faults, specifically with Siemens software
    • Perform sensor adjustments to achieve desired readings
    • Ability to deep dive into an HMI and solve faults
    • Work with Ignition Data Visualisation software
    • Address VFD faults and parameter adjustments
    • Address industrial HVAC and plumbing needs

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to start up the facility for both clinical and commercial supply. 
This is an exciting opportunity to help start up a state-of-the-art facility and build a manufacturing supply chain from ground-up.
The Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for performing routine manufacturing activities across GMP manufacturing areas, including: Cell Culture, Downstream Purification, and Fill & Finish at the Lebanon Advanced Therapies, LP2 site.
Initially, the Operator will be responsible for supporting execution of equipment qualification, developing site operations procedures and setting up production areas. During this initial project delivery/startup phase of the project, roles will be fluid and dynamic. Once the plant is operational, the Manufacturing Operator will be responsible for execution of production activities on their shift under the leadership of the shift supervisor.
**As a Manufacturing Operator, your responsibilities will include:**
+ Work in a cleanroom environment to produce advanced therapies in a safe and quality manner.
+ Coordinate production activities with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Plant Maintenance to facilitate on-time release of advanced therapies.
+ Participate in equipment commissioning and qualification testing and process validation activities in collaboration with other departments.
+ Safely work with BSL-2 materials, following site biologics safety program.
+ Conduct and appropriately document production of advanced Therapies via strict adherence to digital manufacturing batch records and affiliated SOPs.
+ Utilize and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure performance and safety standards are met.
+ Collaborate with maintenance technicians, equipment manufacturers, and quality assurance to ensure that all production equipment is in good working order and is validated for use.
+ Provide verbal and written reports to supervisors and other teams in a clear and concise manner.
+ Maintain accurate and complete electronic records and logbooks as per cGLP and/or cGMP, as appropriate.
+ Adhere to all applicable procedures, cGLP, cGMPs, company policies, and any other quality or regulatory requirements.
+ Compliance with cleanroom gowning requirements required for completing specific work in drug substance and drug product.
+ Work well in a fast-paced team environment.
**Minimum Requirements:** High School diploma or equivalent
**Additional Preferences:**
+ Direct manufacturing experience with automatic, manual, and semi-automated equipment, following operational procedures.
+ Technical problem-solving skills.
