The Specialist, Packaging will analyze present and proposed manufacturing processes and technologies to determine improvements to processes, equipment, and automation to optimize manufacturing processes, meet present and new regulations, reduce waste, and increase capacity. Develop and implement methods to increase thru-put while complying with cGMP's.

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Identify applications where technology can be applied to improving SOPs, yields, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste.
• Evaluate and propose planning techniques to assist in the successful completion of defined projects.
• Optimize and define processes to maximize yield and reduce waste.
• Assist in the selection and installation of manufacturing process equipment.
• Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to process problems in manufacturing.
• Direct the integration of new products from development into manufacturing.
• Effectively coordinate required activities with other departments as to ensure completion of defined projects.
• Write, review, and maintain documentation for multiple projects.
• Provide effective day-to-day leadership and oversight for small groups ranging in size from two to twelve technicians.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor of Science in hard science preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Pharmaceutical experience desired.
• Must have ability to be trained and proficient in the core department tasks such as: inspection, packaging paperwork, and labeling.
• Knowledge of Lighthouse Headspace Testing and Marchesini Cartoning Machines a plus.
• Lead experience and strong demonstrated leadership abilities required.

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Process Technician - Formulation, Weekday Days works in highly controlled areas and follows specific procedures for insuring product is properly compounded and preserving the sterility of aseptically manufactured products. The primary function of position is to perform all compounding duties to support SVP1 and SVP2 aseptic fill lines. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Operate all pieces of equipment within the compounding area. (Tanks, mixers, pumps)
2. Perform equipment staging and post run activities for scheduled production run.
3. Compound the various solutions manufactured in the SVP area.
4. Utilize measurement devices such as scales, pH meters, and dissolved Oxygen meters.
5. Perform accurately basic arithmetic functions including calculation of percentages.
6. Maintain a clean work area.
7. Follow Standard Operating Procedures while performing all job functions.
8. Document accurately production processes on issued paperwork and equipment logs.
9. Acts safely protecting self, others, property and product.
10. Works with pressurized systems, i.e., air, stream, and hot water.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Science desired.
• Ability to perform basic math required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and ratios)
• Experience in chemical compounding and pharmaceutical production helpful.
• Manufacturing production and equipment operation experience is desired.
• Pharmaceutical and FDA Regulated Industry Experience desired.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40-70 pounds. Prolonged standing. Exposure to Latex and other allergens. Confined spaces. Pushing and pulling.

Shift: Weekday Day Shift

• Rotating 3-day / 4-day schedule; Monday - Wednesday & every other Thursday 6am - 6pm
• Training & Onboarding for position will be first 5 weeks:
  • Week 1: New Hire Orientation Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
  • Weeks 2-5: Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.
