Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust chemical manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.

  • Handle and measure raw materials according to specified formulations, follow strict safety and quality guidelines.

  • Collect samples for QC lab analysis.

  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Accurately process production data transactions in ERP system (SAP).

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures.

  • Perform equipment cleaning.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, safety programs, and required training to enhance operational knowledge and compliance.

  • Adhere to 5S practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Entry-level position - no prior experience required. However, candidates with experience in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment are preferred and may be considered for higher-level roles.

  • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform measurements, conversions, and simple calculations related to production processes.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines in English.

  • Communication skills to document production activities, report issues, and collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. Experience with SAP strongly preferred.

  • Fork truck driving experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full or half-face respirator, as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team in Quincy, MA. In this role, you will play be responsible for working hands-on with our engineering team on a multi-disciplinary workflow to deliver world class AUVs. This will require building complex electromechanical assemblies and integrating them into the final product!

Please note: This role will be based in our Quincy, MA location until Q4 of 2025. Following this period, the successful candidate will be expected to work out of our new Quonset, RI facility. Based on eligibility, relocation assistance may be available.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists on AUV assembly and integration efforts
  • Build, integrate, and test complex electro-mechanical assemblies into our world class AUVs
  • Routing and servicing high-reliability cabling and wiring harnesses
  • Design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve build and test efficiency
  • Fabricate and modify machined parts and COTS components
  • Contribute to all stages of the vehicle product development and manufacturing life cycle and provide feedback to the engineering team
  • Help develop, document, and improve our workflows
  • Help organize and establish our on-site manufacturing workflow
  • Potential of traveling offshore to support our operations team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a mechanical field (automotive/marine, aerospace, industrial equipment)
  • Familiar with simple fabrication processes, basic hand tools, and both plastic/metal part manufacturing
  • A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
  • A full understanding of the manufacturing life cycle

US Hourly Range

$26.92-$40.38 USD

The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities are broad and include safety, product quality, process control, productivity improvement, and development of a LEAN culture. The Manufacturing Engineer is expected to spend a significant amount of time on the floor and lead large capital project teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety
    • Assume a leadership position at the facility in partnership with the Plant Manager, Facilities & Engineering Manager and Shift Supervisors. Activities include resolution and communication regarding safety issues. 
    • Execute on scheduled PHA’s and JSA’s.
    • Proactively monitor area and remediate potential safety issues.
    • Use DAKOTA software as a tool for compliance and environmental, health and safety. Use the tool to report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances.
  •  LEAN Culture
    • Active participant in MS-168 Management Operating System.
    • Develop and execute upon “standard work” activities.
    • Continuous Improvement champion promoting and driving the “Small K” program.
    • Conduct “GEMBA Walks” daily. Use walks as the primary means of education and communication of expectations. 
    • Improve productivity through elimination of non-value-added activities. Apply Engineering principles and methodologies to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
    • Maintain and continually improve the plant layout and flow.
  • Computer Software
    • Must be proficient in using 3D CAD and Adobe Photoshop software: 
      • 3D CAD.
      • Adobe Photoshop.
      • Microsoft Applications.
  • Product Quality
    • Work to maximize equipment efficiency and quality for output.
    • Assist in the training of operators with a focus on quality critical product specifications and process parameters.
    • Must be proficient in equipment tooling, process troubleshooting, and design.
  • Project Management
    • Must be capable of successfully managing high-value projects on time and budget. 
    • Manages and coordinates large equipment installations and process implementations.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.

  • Master’s Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must have experience in both practical Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding process variance and the resultant effects on Quality.
  • Knowledge of applied statistics.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Quonset, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a manufacturing engineering team over a subset of Anduril's products to drive process improvements, ensure the highest quality of production, and support the development and implementation of new products. You will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies on existing technologies while also developing new products and scaling to full scale production.

This role will be based in our Quincy, MA location until Q4 of 2025. Following this period, the successful candidate will be expected to work out of our new Quonset, RI facility. Based on eligibility, relocation assistance may be available.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Lead and directly manage a small team of manufacturing engineers overseeing a product line or distinct value-stream within manufacturing
* Run weekly 1v1 / team meetings, set prioritization focus, coordinate team scheduling, and provide concise status reporting
* Extremely high level of product ownership and adherence to manufacturing engineering best practices
* Organize DFX efforts and ensure timely completion of production readiness deliverables
* Mentor and support junior manufacturing engineers and serve as a role model for manufacturing excellence
