Description:

Key Responsibilities:
Process and Procedure Development: Prepare and maintain detailed process work instructions for facilities, processes, materials, and tooling.
Collaboration: Work with senior staff, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Environmental Health & Safety representatives to ensure compliance and safety.
Analysis and Documentation: Develop and lead Process Hazards Analyses (PHA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Facility/Equipment/Tool Acceptance documentation. Maintain and develop ERP routings and MBOMs.
Problem Solving: Solve manufacturing problems using test and production data evaluation, root cause/corrective analysis, and drawing/specification interpretation.
Process Improvement: Implement process flow diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analyses (PFMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Operational Support: Participate in defect identification and resolution, ensure compliance with Safety, Operations, and Quality Assurance, and conduct process reviews.
Tooling Development: Support process tooling development, design reviews, and implementation into manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions:
+ Demonstrate process ownership and implement improvements to increase efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.
+ Support energetic assembly operations, defect investigations, SPC monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.

Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate Manufacturing Engineer at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment's Orange, VA site. Our site is near Culpeper, VA, this site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
Reporting to the Associate Manager Manufacturing Engineering, this position works within a matrixed organization alongside operations, quality engineering, design engineering, and program management to support manufacturing activities. This role will focus on improving, automating, and growing existing production lines, reducing Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), and driving manufacturing improvement projects.
Working under general supervision and mentors, the Senior Associate Manufacturing Engineer performs manufacturing engineering assignments that require foundational knowledge and understanding of core principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
Essential Functions:
+ Under direction of more senior manufacturing engineering staff and the guidance/support of other disciplines, support: modernization and automation of production facilities; defect identification, resolution, and root cause investigations; Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring; and continuous improvement activities. This includes the maintenance and development of detailed process instructions based upon technical drawings and specifications, Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
+ Demonstrate process ownership of established manufacturing activities by utilizing systematic tools to determine root cause, implement process improvements to increase operating efficiency, and ensure process conformance to safety and quality standards.
+ Support process tooling development, design reviews, implementation into manufacturing processes, and the required safety reviews.
+ Support energetic assembly and manufacturing operations.
+ Travel may be required up to 5% of time
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant Engineering experience. Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills.
+ Experience interpreting technical requirements from drawings and specifications.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.

We are seeking to fill a Quality Engineer our Orange (Culpeper), VA site.
Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is Aerojet Rocketdyne's center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
Essential Functions
This will familiarize the candidate with the manufacturing floor making the connection between design requirements and manufacturing capability.
The new hire will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with company quality practices, manufacturing, and programs. Tasks will vary but may include assisting technical staff in providing adequate methods to meet quality requirements, providing root cause and corrective actions, meeting delivery and performance targets, and supporting engineers in the design and development of products and processes to improve production.
Qualifications
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program or higher in Industrial Technology, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, or General Engineering. Will consider other majors such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $55,000 - $102,000MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
