The Director of Manufacturing at Biery Cheese Co., is located on-site in Louisville, OH. The Director of Manufacturing will oversee and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maximizing productivity, and implementing efficient manufacturing operations management strategies. This role also involves fostering continuous improvement processes and ensuring the highest quality standards in production.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Champion programs that promote strong employee relations across the organization.
• Design and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company objectives and optimize operational performance.
• Define, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
• Generate comprehensive reports for operational insights and executive decision-making.
• Lead planning, maintenance, and process efficiency initiatives across facilities.
• Drive operational improvements that reduce losses and support long-term growth.
• Build and manage external relationships and represent the company in outreach efforts.
• Assess and approve budget allocations and staffing plans to ensure resource optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to proactively mitigate production risks and delays.
• Supervise and coach production and maintenance teams, promoting high standards of accountability and performance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead or participate in improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and achieve strategic goals.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 8+ years in manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated direct knowledge of Food Industry GMP regulations/requirements for facilities, and utilities within manufacturing, a plus
• Minimum 4 years of increasing responsibility in managing and leading a team
• Prior experience developing and maintaining a budget
• The ability to build teams where employees have a shared purpose and vision; demonstrated experience building unity between sites and/or functions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.

**The Role**
+ Assists in mogul set up to include, but not limited to proper mold board, nozzle plate, piston bar and other required set up activities; as specified in the Mogul manual
+ Monitors and maintains uniformity of the product being deposited into starch trays
+ Ensures against starch buildup on mold board
+ Visually inspects the mold board impression for good appearance
+ Ensures continuous proper board weight for each candy production run; documentation of board weight confirmation
+ Must respond quickly to minor malfunctions that occur with the Mogul and notify the Mechanic on duty of any problems
+ Respond to minor breakdowns and jams of equipment as required

**The Candidate**
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ 6+ months of batch making experience preferred
+ Manufacturing experience preferred
+ Six Sigma, 5S, LEAN manufacturing, GMP/GDP experience preferred

The Engineer, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) is responsible for supporting GMP manufacturing operations as a project leader to commercialize new products and optimize commercial manufacturing processes. The Engineer, MS&T assists in translating client and process development information into cGMP process implementation.

**The Role**
+ Collaborate with GMP manufacturing and Product Development project teams as the MS&T project lead and subject matter expert in Starch Mogul Process.
+ Support the conversion of client strategies into tactical execution plans for successful technology transfers and commercial manufacturing. Collect and analyze process data for internal and client review.
+ Act as the team leader for process and product investigations, and draft comprehensive investigation reports.
+ Lead MS&T tech transfer projects from both Catalent Process Development and external clients into GMP manufacturing. Author technical transfer documents and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support GMP manufacturing projects.
+ Work with R&D, QA, and Operations to evaluate and assess project/program data for implementing products and technologies into commercial production; establish process improvements based on analysis of trends and study data.
+ Address deviations, and customer complaints; participate in determining and implementing corrective actions.
+ Ensure robustness of commercial product manufacturing processes.
+ Prepare MS&T reports, protocols, process validations, and verifications, while delivering technical expertise and support for a range of projects. Coordinate with Project Management to achieve MS&T project milestones by attending regular and ad hoc meetings.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**The Candidate**
+ B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences or a related field with 2+ years of experience in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology manufacturing industry; OR M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences or a related field with 1+ year of experience.
+ Experience with established food or confectionary manufacturers, CMOs, or similar client-based environments is preferred.
