Responsibilities:
- Perform site inspections and hold safety meetings with foreman and other project staff as required.
- Work in collaboration with safety staff and general superintendents on site specific safety plans to ensure that material and resources are provided to address hazards.
- Prepare estimate costs for project setup.
- After project award is confirmed, evaluate all project costs and report current and forecasted costs on a monthly basis. Overages and savings to be analyzed against the sales estimate and your findings should be recorded in the financial notes in CMACS.
- Review the savings and overages with the Shop Foreman on the project to determine if purchases have variance between, sold cost, estimated cost and cost averages.
- Create project schedules in CMACA. Collaborate with customer, construction-engineering team and vendors to gather required information to report any foreseen constraint and conflicts with deliverables; equipment lead times to ensure start, finish and key milestone customer requirements are met.
- Manage Subcontractors for duration and sequence of work we are self-performing and enter in project schedule.
- Evaluate for issues with meeting contractual obligations.
- Review and analyze the project drawings and specifications to ensure engineered drawings created is in alignment with the project requirements and prepare any questions for discrepancies.
- Required to visit the shop daily to review active work to review quality and identify deficiencies efficiently.
- Hold regular project meetings.
- Use an action list in excel or CMACS to communicate project needs and deadlines.
- Act as the hub for communication and coordination for all manufacturing.
- Communicate with upper management so additional resources can be added if deadlines are not being met.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience as a Manufacturing Manager.
- Degree in Business/ Project Management.
- Must be able to develop and maintain detailed MS Project scheduled (startup-task durations, resources allocations, labor costs, etc.)
- Must be able to maintain multiple projects in all varying phases of manufacturing at the same time
- Ability to coach, mentor and teach.
- Intermediate financial management and forecasting experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills must be detail orientated, self-sufficient and self-motivated.
- Exceptional planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage a number of projects with competing priorities and able to work well under pressure to meet firm budgets and tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, owners and consultants.
- In depth knowledge of all aspects of OHSA and safety regulations of construction safety management.
- Able to represent the organization in a professional and respectful manner and lead by example at all times.
