**About the Team**
At ZF Foxconn Duncan, the Engineering Team works collaboratively across various departments-including Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Logistics. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the Axle assembly line, ensuring efficient daily operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the successful launch of new projects. This role requires adaptability to shifting priorities and a proactive mindset focused on continuous learning and growth within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
**What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer**
+ Make changes to enhance the machine functionality of the equipment. Continuously improve/upgrade equipment using six sigma/lean principles.
+ Responsible for the implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production. Troubleshoot and solve errors/problems on production equipment.
+ Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Ensure the work environment, equipment and processes are in safe condition and meet or exceed OSHA requirements.
+ Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.
+ Responsible for documentation and appropriate training plans.
+ Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with management, design and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
+ Involvement in team meetings with production and production support staff to help determine and develop areas of improvement in safety, productivity, quality and cost efficiency.
+ Estimates, future manufacturing requirements and potential, help to ensure that the quality of the product produced meets all customer requirements.
**Your Profile as a Manufacturing Engineer**
+ Master/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering and or similar
+ 2+ years of experience with an automotive company and/or JIT (just-in-time) environment preferred (internship/co-op included).
+ Proficient computer skills with Microsoft and AutoCAD software.
+ Prior experience in assembly/manufacturing environment, plant layout, cost analyst, Line balancing, blueprint reading, pneumatics and hydraulics preferred.
+ Excellent communications capabilities with both verbal and written means.
+ Good time management and prioritizing skills
+ A working knowledge of statistical methods and SPC charts.
+ **Ability to work on-call, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed**

      • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
      • Monitor inventory transactions for accuracy and timeliness, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
    • Production Control
      • Set up and maintain production routes, operations, resources, and cost categories.
      • Assist in configuring production order types, scheduling parameters, and job card journals.
      • Provide support for discrete manufacturing processes including order release, execution, reporting, and costing.
      • Monitor production order progress, material consumption, and output reporting to ensure accuracy.
      • Coordinate with operations to implement lean practices and eliminate non-value-added steps in production workflows.
    • Transportation Management
      • Configure transport modes, freight rates, route plans, and carrier assignment rules.
      • Support inbound and outbound shipment processes, including load planning and rate shopping.
      • Integrate transportation plans with warehouse work to streamline staging and loading activities.
      • Assist with freight reconciliation, carrier invoicing, and tracking logistics performance.
      • Facilitate communication between shipping/receiving and third-party logistics providers.
      • Support data integrity efforts by defining data standards and coordinating master data updates related to vendors, parts, BOMs, and routings.
      • Develop and execute test cases for UAT, integration testing, and regression testing of supply chain features.
      • Provide ongoing production support and user training for D365 supply chain users.
      • Assist in managing change requests, system enhancements, and issue resolution through tools like Azure DevOps or ServiceNow.
      • Participate in cross-functional projects and ERP upgrades or rollouts.
      • Work with external vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, especially Supply Chain Management modules.

  • Familiarity with Logistics and Transportation Management systems.
  • Proven experience with business process mapping, gap analysis, and documentation.

  • Experience with shop floor devices; handheld scanners, label printers, and shop floor control kiosks.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Schedule components and production to ensure sufficient inventory is available on a timely basis to achieve sales projections.
  • Review MRP outputs daily to ensure all required actions are taken - planned orders (job and purchase), expedites, defers, and cancels.

Required Qualifications:
  • Five (5) plus years of MRP planning experience with some purchasing knowledge
  • Solid working knowledge of ERP systems; SyteLine experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with manufacturing BOMs
  • Must display initiative and possess integrity, a strong work ethic, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with a high sense of urgency

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will focus on improving the outcomes of various processes so that, by mapping all the inputs and outputs of a defined business process, a Manufacturing Engineer Intern is able to recommend ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost or increase customer satisfaction.
