The candidate will define and improve processes and procedures for the manufacture of brazed aluminum heat exchangers (BAHX), provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for BAHX manufacturing, and provide technical leadership for equipment and improvement projects.

**_What Will You Do?_**
+ Evaluate, analyze, and define processes, methods, hardware, and designs to improve the quality and profitability of BAHX.
+ Work with equipment vendors to assess advancements in technologies that will offer benefits in the manufacture of BAHX. Specify, procure, and implement new equipment needed to support the growth and improvement of BAHX manufacturing.
+ Analyze product defects occurring during manufacturing and generate and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
+ Monitor and improve BAHX component quality and performance.
+ Develop training instructions and train others, usually production workers, in specific manufacturing processes.
+ Work with raw material suppliers to identify improvement opportunities and address quality issues.
+ Provide BAHX product support to the sales and design departments and assist with customer support.
+ Use software such as MS Office, AutoCAD and MS Project to perform engineering, financial, scheduling, and report writing tasks.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Your Education Should Be.**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Mechanical, manufacturing, or material science engineering is preferred, but other engineering degrees will be considered.
**_Your Experience Should Be._**
+ Two or more years of manufacturing work experience including co-op and internship experiences.
+ Knowledge of metal working, machining, bending, forming, cleaning, and assembly.
+ Ability to apply scientific and mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical analysis, root cause investigation, developing hypothesis, and evaluating options.
+ Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing related technical documents.
+ Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
+ Effectively present information to all levels of the organization.
+ Knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing practices, design software, databases, programmable logic controllers, and project management techniques.

+ Responsible for product/process quality for the entire Supply Chain, from supplier to customer, of several Product Lines; drive effective root cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances for all elements
+ In-house manufacturing: support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Relief Operator must be able to proficiently operate all line equipment at a grade 8 level. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail through many changes. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and is based out of our Sparta, Michigan location.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Coverage to run filler, labeler, case packer, box former, and depalletizer in absence of standard operators.
- Complete quality checks
- Knows the purpose and proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks and safety devices
- Can properly start and stop the machinery
- Understands and can properly operate all machine controls: mechanical, electrical and pneumatic
- Proficient at performing product cuts
- Keeps the work area clean and free of debris and keeps the waste corrugated stacked neatly in the waste cart
- Clears jams and resets the machinery
- Safely operates the electric pallet jack and is Forklift Certified
- Assists maintenance in size changeovers as necessary
- Fills out all needed documentation and performs first piece inspections
- Coordinates with the operators so the correct boxes are available to the case packer
- Proficient in operating all line equipment
- Maintains awareness of all safety procedures
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Can properly fill out all required documentation
- Has successfully completed machine operator training on all pieces of equipment
- Capable of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
- Successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented and can multi-task
- Ability to run whalon, filler, labeler, case packer and line driver.
- Ability to complete all quality checks.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food/beverage industry
- Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
