As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead project management efforts and oversee the effective use of the Plex ERP system. You will coordinate engineering projects from concept through production, including new product introductions, process changes, and production line implementations.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and coordinate engineering projects, ensuring timely execution from concept through production.
+ Oversee and maintain all manufacturing-related data in Plex, including routings, BOMs, part numbers, work centers, and standard costing.
+ Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Production, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to drive project timelines, resolve roadblocks, and meet launch objectives.
+ Provide technical and process support to Commercial Cabinet Hardware, including troubleshooting, documentation updates, and small-scale process improvements.
+ Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as work instructions, setup sheets, routings, and manufacturing specifications within Plex and controlled systems.
+ Assist in first-piece validation, capability studies, and post-launch performance evaluations to ensure processes are stable and repeatable.
+ Lead or support engineering change notices (ECNs), including assessing impacts and ensuring proper implementation across systems and departments.
+ Identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows across departments.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
+ 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on engineering project execution or ERP administration.
+ Strong experience with Plex ERP or equivalent manufacturing ERP systems.
+ Demonstrated project management experience, preferably within a manufacturing or operations setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with Robotic Welding, Machine Forming, Tube Bending, Forge Machining, or similar operations.
+ Experience working with or supporting hinge-related product lines or other continuous manufacturing environments.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
+ Exposure to lean tools and process improvement methodologies.
Work Environment
The work environment involves using advanced ERP systems and collaborating across various departments. Expect to engage with technologies such as CNC machinery and participate in a culture focused on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

- Inspects product during production for conformance to specification by performing the following duties.
- Responsible for verifying the conformance of supplied products, where required. Extent of verification is based on the type of received product.
- Products requiring inspection will be inspected as per plan. Visually examines parts for surface defects such as material shortage, flash, cracks, etc. Works from blueprint drawings, charts, or specifications to check dimensions, squareness, hole locations, surface relationships, finish, material defects, etc.
- Ensure that all protractors, squares, and combination squares are calibrated to the standards described in work instructions.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/manufacturing manager.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products to re-work; confirming re-work.
- Upload pictures and edit them for reports.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calls for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of welding is desired.
- Possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

+ Support the Quality Department in addressing issues and driving root cause analysis related to customer concerns.
+ Manage change for updates to engineering prints, standards and/or processes.

+ Assist in activities associated with new product launches (i.e. APQP in Automotive Industry) from providing quotes through the successful completion of quality records (such as PPAP) and product launch.
+ Drive timeline and resolution of issues with cross-functional teams.
+ Interface with the sales, engineering, accounting, and vendors to gather or clarify information.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing organization to develop manufacturing prints and establish controls and operational limits for operators.
+ Create 2D and/or 3D models for heading and rolling tools used in manufacturing of metal fasteners.
+ Create process routing and bills of material for newly awarded business.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
+ Minimum 3-4 years' experience in the manufacturing industry; product and/or tooling development for metal manufacturing (fastener) experience required.
+ Experience in automotive industry is highly beneficial.
+ Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes.
+ Working knowledge of lean manufacturing.
+ Some experience with front office support to customer service, manufacturing or engineering.
+ Strong experience with Microsoft Office software products.
+ Strong experience with 2D and 3D CAD software; preferably SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
+ Ability to read technical drawings and specifications & a basic knowledge of metal manufacturing practices.
+ Skilled in document management, organization and prioritization.
+ Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while demonstrating flexibility.
+ Proven ability to deal with changes in a business environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage recruiting needs across various disciplines, including administrative, accounting/finance, engineering, technical, manufacturing, leadership, and general professional roles.

- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Caseware, depreciation processing software, Tax preparation software (Axcess), Tax research software (RIA), and Go File Room is strongly desired
