Primary responsibilities:

This position is focused on leading cross functional teams to improve manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing products throughout Syracuse manufacturing site. + Be a key member of the plant's leadership team, ensuring strategic alignment of our approach while driving for tactical execution of manufacturing initiatives.

+ Direct and prioritize the work of manufacturing engineers (60%), while owning and resolving engineering initiatives/projects yourself (40%).
+ Identify manufacturing technologies by making recommendations regarding equipment, plant changes which include material flow and plant design.
+ Facilitate and implement impactful changes that support employee relations, operational excellence while exemplifying and leading the Eaton Leadership model.
+ Lead manufacturing processes for new products and changes in manufacturing flow.
+ Ensure new product / process designs and incorporate provisions for maximum cost effectiveness.
+ Develop all manufacturing engineering inputs required for the development of accurate cost models supporting the quotation process for new, relocated, and redesigned components.
+ Implement improvements to existing manufacturing operations, equipment, and procedures.
+ Investigate, analyze, and recommend new and/or alternate equipment and manufacturing methods supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives.
+ Prepare financial justification for large projects in support of Capital Appropriations that include the development of narratives and executive support documents.
+ Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects.
+ Present manufacturing plans to Senior Leadership for approval.
+ Procure equipment and tooling per project plans and standards.
+ Drive and implement safety policies and programs when applicable.
**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing engineering supporting a manufacturing environment.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in writing capital appropriation request narratives and executive presentations.
