Position Overview

The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing our new machine shop, as well as managing a team of technicians and machinists. Insight Global is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Metro Detroit Area. This Manufacturing Engineer is going to be responsible for working on logistics and having a line of communication with the local Pontiac team, to be informed on any parts that are being delivered for manual bending and informing the team of what parts have the highest priority. They will be responsible for packing completed parts and creating shippers to deliver them to their destinations. Along with logistics, they will be responsible for any part tracking, involving tracking the part through completion from beginning to end ensuring there are no delays or lost parts. The Manufacturing Engineer will be working and looking through the team SharePoint daily for any new requests and change status of parts that have been completed. Invoicing and Billing will also be a large responsibility within this role, the engineer will be gathering accounting information from requestors ahead of requests to ensure proper funding & creating invoices for any requests. This engineer will be working heavily in design meetings - leading the meeting and ensuring all deliverables are being executed properly and parts are completed on time and reporting on these items to the team. This team is looking for an engineer that is willing to learn new things and willing to help other team members accomplish their goals for the team

**In this position.**
The candidate is responsible for Launch and Production support of Wheel Alignment and headlamp aim equipment for all North American Ford Assembly plants. Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants

**What you'll do.**
+ Lead Wheel Alignment, Headlamp Aim, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) systems implementation and launch activities from supplier buyoff through post vehicle launch activities and follow up for all Ford North America vehicle programs.
+ Consolidate Wheel Alignment, Headlamp Aim, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) requirements from cross functional teams and translate them into system and process requirements and coordinate installation, commissioning, and support throughout launch.
+ Ensure compliance to the GVOSS (Global Vehicle Operations Structured Standards) and Ergonomic standards for EOL test system installations.
+ Review and implement new WAHA-ADAS concepts and designs.
+ Develop and implement improvements to WAHA-ADAS SW and HW using data from the EOL Dashboard / Report Logic Reporting Systems.
+ Assist in preparation of NMP management reviews; perform data collection to support the presentation.
+ Support capital project teams to develop capital appropriations requests and manage the projects from supplier tooling buyoff through commissioning.
+ Support costing activities for WAHA-ADAS test implementation and find acceptable cost reduction opportunities.
+ Support change control to evaluate product change impact on test equipment costs and labor.
+ Provide onsite prototype build support at North American Manufacturing Assembly Plants. Note: Travel within US, Canada and Mexico for installation, launch support and issue resolution may require up to 70% of dedicated time onsite.
+ Lead risk assessment for software, and hardware changes.
+ Write functional descriptions for SW and HW modifications and assist in writing SOW's. Coordinate all pre-launch WAHA-ADAS validation events from DCV through MP2.
+ Assist plant & implementation teams in resolving performance issues.
+ Lead daily trouble shooting; coordinate cross-functional resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated.
+ Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant repairmen when required.Determine accurate validation methods.
**You'll have.**
+ Associate degree in engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing), or equivalent experience in similar field.
+ At least 5 years' experience in Final Assembly, primarily Chassis and Exterior lighting
+ Background in Wheel Alignment Headlamp Aim and Driver Assist Technologies, software development or product validation
+ Working knowledge of diagnostics and vehicle repair
+ Familiarity with computer HW, SW and wireless technologies
+ Strong computer Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Web Based reporting systems)
+ Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
+ Understanding of PFMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance principles

- Experience in all program phases from PSC to Launch
- One major launch program (UP / UN > 4 ) or discipline equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in electrical and mechanical engineering, IT or Computer Science
- Automotive manufacturing experience / supplier project management skills
- Product development experience with Electrical systems, EDS, or module design
- Industrial Controls Design Architecture
- Familiarity with IT plant infrastructure (network design and server applications)
- Working knowledge of diagnostics and vehicle repair

Manufacturing Engineering
**What you'll do.**
Drive manufacturing-optimized and feasible designs into product development cycle to increase our efficiency. We are seeking results-oriented analytical engineers with a knack for innovation who continuously seek better and more efficient ways to build our vehicles. Advanced Program and Delivery (APD) is a cross-functional team responsible in planning and implementing new vehicle programs (end to end). In this role you will be working on an early vehicle model program in a fast paced, creative problem-solving environment.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Collaborate with product design team to drive a lean manufacturing, assembly friendly feasible and efficient design for new model vehicles through detailed analyses.
+ Collaborate with the Manufacturing Core Organizations on the development of the build sequence, installation processes, and tooling strategies for new product launches.
+ Quantify manufacturing and facility impact to launch new model programs including facility, tooling, labor
+ Identify and lead resolution of assembly feasibility issues.
+ Collaborate regularly with the Product Development team to generate facility & tooling impact, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements
+ Use virtual tools, such as AutoCAD, Vault, TeamCenter, and Vismockup to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for assembly operations.
+ Write, modify and maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.
+ Review all product designs/concepts to ensure they adhere to our Global manufacturing requirements
+ Evaluate "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs and support developing lessons learned from launches with ability to implement prevent reoccurrence actions.
+ Attend benchmarking events and develop next-generation ideas to optimize for efficient production and ensure our competitiveness.
+ Evaluate competitive vehicle information relative to manufacturing end items, sub-assemblies, components, and fastening and drive into program actions.
+ Collaborate with multi-functional groups (Program Implementation Teams, Product Development, Marketing, Program Planning, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs) in early product planning workshops.
+ Travel to our North American Assembly Plants for site reviews and to support future program launch.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering.
+ 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Final assembly (Trim- interior or exterior or Chassis-Powertrain, Brakes, Frames, Suspension, Subframes)
+ Experience utilizing 3D CAD (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Tools.
+ Open to travel
+ Experience in PFMEA and failure mode avoidance.
+ Ability to launch.
