Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Drawing Management System in accordance with Global CAD Rules.
- Manage local Engineering activities aligned with Engineering Department in Germany.
- Maintain the Product Data Management (PDM).
- Creation of drawings and 3D models.
- Generate technical modification for drawing revisions.
- Creation of work instructions.
- Management of product Information.
- Management of production cell design and continuous improvement.
- Design and develop tooling for production cells.
- Management of Supplier product information.
- Collaborate with Product Managers for costing activities.
- Collaborate with Purchasing on new Supplier designed products.
- Support purchasing with part information during part creation process.
- Facilitate and own Corrective Actions.
- Take part in Change Management.
- Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Develop internal standards and documented guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- SolidWorks certification or 2 years’ experience with SolidWorks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (All Applications)
- Proficiency in PDM (Product Data Management) software
- Understanding of APQP methodology
- Understanding of process maps, control plans, and process FMEA
- Understanding of machining principles, tube bending, welding/brazing, mechanical assemblies and hydraulic systems
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5 years’ experience in relevant field

Job Description
Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program. Implement new production equipment, operator work stations, and facilities based on product and process changes during manufacturing assembly build events on site.
Responsibilities
+ Compile and distribute daily metrics files in standard night letter format and Excel list format.
+ Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing-related issues.
+ Interface with cross-functional activities and teams such as Product Development, Plant Engineering, and Suppliers.
+ Write, modify, and maintain process sheets as required.
+ Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site.
+ Lead tooling buy-off at the tooling vendor facility.
+ Lead pre-build validation events for the prototype build at the pilot plant.

During critical phases, such as build events and installation/commissioning, 12-hour shifts, night shifts, and alternating weekend support may be required.

Seeking a candidate to fulfill an opening as a Vehicle Operations Engineering (VME) Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) & Quality Engineer. Selected candidate will be responsible for driving quality initiatives and strategies in our assembly plants, as well as prevent recurrence actions for future programs.
VME FAE is responsible for driving current model quality and ensuring future programs are launched with zero defects and zero warranty at Job 1. The team is responsible for driving current model quality concerns (reducing R/1000), managing VME responsibilities for minor programs and running changes at our assembly plants, and leading the implementation of tools/technologies/error proofing to improve quality and to resolve process/manufacturing related issues.
**What you'll do.**
+ Lead data driven and plant floor analysis of current model quality concerns and/or process/manufacturing related issues
+ Identify, develop, and deliver ICAs, PCAs, and PRAs for current model quality concerns and/or process/manufacturing related issues
+ Operate cross functionally with Plant Engineering, Product Development, Vehicle Program Engineers, Quality Offices, STA, VME FAE Core and Manufacturing Program Teams, and other groups throughout the company
+ Engage SMEs and groups/engineers within different teams (FAE and otherwise) for assistance in driving Quality
+ Utilize data from VRT health charts to prioritize response actions that drive largest R/1000 reductions
+ Lead report outs to management
+ Represent VME FAE at VRT functions, supporting as required
+ Lead implementation of tools/technologies/error proofing to improve quality and to resolve process/manufacturing related issues
+ Manage VME responsibilities for minor programs and running changes at assembly plants which include, but are not limited to, assessing manufacturing feasibility, estimating facility and tooling costs, updating engineering concerns, and writing of purchase orders.
+ Perform in-plant trials and prove-out associated with engineering concerns, MCR actions, alerts and PSOs.
+ Support GSPAS, PFMEA and control plan updates, delta audits, GERT investigations, ECN maintenance, change control and VME initiatives tied to current model programs
+ Provide support for containment on stop ships
+ Assist with incoming quality
+ Support daily quality meetings, weekly regional meetings, plant VQRs, and warranty binning meetings

+ A Mechanical Engineer with good communication skills to work in process / equipment analysis and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Responsibilities may include:
+ Layout of equipment (AutoCAD)
+ Processing (Modapts)
+ Risk analysis (PFMEA)
+ Manufacturing feasibility (DFAM)
+ Monitor and record current processes / cycle times
+ Review current and future equipment requirements
+ Support of key business initiatives and core projects
+ Unique Challenges include: Balancing multiple requirements from differing internal functional groups, learning to develop macros to assist in standard document development, understanding how to apply our core standards in a variety of OEM products and plant constraints
**_Duties:_**
+ This role may support
+ Site visits for product builds with processing reviews
+ Equipment supplier visits for runoff / testing
+ Material flow planning for new model year launch
+ Direct labor CI (Continuous Improvement) activities and line rebalances
+ New model year layout change implementation
+ This role may require travel both within and outside of Michigan to visit our manufacturing plants and equipment suppliers
**_Other position requirements:_**
+ Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ Available to work up to 40 hours per week during program
+ Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
+ Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
+ AutoCAD experience is an added plus.
+ Experience developing macros is an added plus.
+ Solid analytical skills and work effectively with plant and corporate teams.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow-up
+ Proficient in MS Office

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our team and support manufacturing operations by driving efficiency, improving processes, and ensuring product quality. The Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
Key Responsibilities:Analyze, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, efficiency, and quality.
Implement and maintain process control systems, work instructions, and documentation in compliance with industry standards.
Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap.
Support new product launches, including process design, validation, and scale-up.
Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, TS 16949, and other applicable regulatory/quality standards.
Provide training and mentorship to operators and technicians on new or revised processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
2+ years of experience in process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering (automotive industry experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.
Proficiency in AIAG core tools (FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP).
Experience with CAD, statistical analysis, and process simulation tools preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
