SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician will support production operations and manufacturing engineers by directly interfacing with team members and fielding questions, will heavily contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Guide complex component fabrication or rework based on technical specifications
Review technical documentation (design info, BOM specs, process sheets, technical publications) and provide guidance to engineering and manufacturing
Work with production associates and manufacturing engineers to resolve manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvement projects
Create and modify fabrication process sheets and drawings
Manage CAD models, flat patterns, and nests for fabricated components
Assist manufacturing engineering in data collection activities such as time studies and cycle time studies
Modify plant layout drawings in planning for new production lines or changes in production location
Able to write clear and effective work instructions
Apply electrical knowledge of automotive 12-volt systems and circuits
Install various automotive electrical components fluently and accurately
Demonstrate understanding of industry-wide quality standards for electrical systems
Use fixture tools effectively in manufacturing and assembly processes
Exhibit strong on-the-spot problem-solving skills
Be a self-starter with high motivation and initiative
Understand and apply lean manufacturing principles

What you need to be successful:

QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diplomas or GED required, Associates degree preferred
Minimum 2-3 years hands on manufacturing experience
Knowledge of/ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer expectations and regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCad, and Microsoft Excel a plus
Understanding of basic manufacturing and fabrication processes and materials
Able to assist engineering with troubleshooting of manufacturing and assembly processes
Perform as manufacturing engineering assistant as needed
Capable of developing standardized work instructions for manufacturing
Desire to grow current skill set and expand capabilities

Summary/Objective

The Manufacturing Utility is responsible for making sure our parts boxes, skids, racks, and any other picked material be staged in a timely manner. Once the material is staged to an appropriate location(s) it is signed off by a team leader. They also are responsible for organization of the staging area and the return of empty dunnage.

Physical Demands

As a member of our manufacturing team, you will drive innovation and efficiency by developing, evaluating, and enhancing manufacturing methods. You'll play a hands-on role in implementing improvements that optimize safety, ergonomics, and quality control, all while ensuring processes and products meet design specifications and production goals. What you will do:
+ Identify and implement safety and ergonomic improvements as a first priority.
+ Apply a strong understanding of GD&T concepts to interpret engineering drawings and ensure precision in manufacturing and quality control processes.
+ Ensure assigned processes and process changes are compliant and documented in accordance with Stryker procedures and applicable regulations.
+ Identify sources of waste in production and implement changes to drive cost, quality, and throughput improvements; support production associates in doing the same.
+ Evaluate blueprints for part processing to ensure manufacturability.
+ Partner with the materials group to drive inventory velocity.
+ Support new product development and ensure smooth transitions into production.
+ Coordinate new and existing machinery in the plant to ensure proper material flow and efficiency.
+ Focus on customer satisfaction through teamwork and empowerment, solving problems through a consultative approach, operating with honesty and integrity, and providing a highly responsive and exceptional level of customer service.
+ Work under general supervision, planning, conducting, and supervising assignments with appreciable latitude for independent action or decision.
+ Direct the work of Engineers or Senior Engineers as needed.
+ Serve as a departmental resource in area of expertise, developing system-level design, development, testing, and refinement.
+ Demonstrate commitment to quality by striving for reliability and excellence in products, continuously seeking ways to enhance performance, and meeting all training and documentation requirements.
What you need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in related discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to review prints for DFM
PHYSICAL/SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- May involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as appropriate.
- May be required to reach, push, or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities.
- Coordination of eye, hand, and/or foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination/memory, reading ability, and memory retention ability.
- Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas. Additional Personal Protective Equipment may be required for some manufacturing support functions.
- Closed-toe shoes must be worn on the production floor; safety shoes are recommended.
- Requires ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.
- Meets cognitive demands to include visual discrimination/memory, auditory discrimination/memory reading ability, independent decision making and retention of specific knowledge.
- May be exposed to loud noises.

Nice to have qualifications
+ Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, and SPC.

Work Environment
