Manufacturing Technician - Portland, OR

Sightline Intelligence is the leader in onboard video processing. Purpose of Position

Based in the Portland office, this role helps ensure product quality with accurate and efficient production assembly.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Conduct PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) incoming inspection.
  • Perform PCBA tests, including functional tests and burn-in testing.
  • Prepare and assemble materials following sales order directions.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in production file systems.
  • Participation in group manufacturing projects
  • Set mutually beneficial goals that support business and personal development.
  • Support RMA, inventory management, shipping, and engineering groups, as needed.
Education and Experience Qualifications

The candidate should have experience and confidence in the following:
  • 3+ years' experience with small electro-mechanical assemblies and ESD best practices
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheet data entry, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Standing and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Beneficial Experience (not required)
  • Component-level electronic troubleshooting experience.
  • Basic soldering skills
  • Experience using a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, or similar test equipment.
  • Working at a small company or in an agile environment.

Benefits

Compensations range from $19 to $26 per hour, depending on experience.

Compensation includes 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance, dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.

We are seeking motivated Manufacturing Technicians to join our team. You will be responsible for performing functions associated with all wafer production operations. Performs set-up, calibration, and some preventative maintenance tasks on wafer fabrication equipment. You will have the opportunity to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line equipment adjustment and ensure process optimization. You will be required to participate in safety expectations and culture. Assignments are routine and repetitive in nature with work performed in narrowly defined parameters. Limited judgment will be required to resolve standard problems as you will receive detailed instructions for all work. Training others with documented instruction may be required at a later time to support the business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain specialized processing equipment in a clean room environment.

  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations while working in the factory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift loads up to 25 lbs.

  • Stand or sit for up to 9 hours within a shift.

  • Push carts for a distance of at least 500 meters.

  • Spend over 80% of work time in a clean room environment, wearing a full body clean suit

  • Work on a compressed work week schedule with 12-hour shifts alternating between three and four days per week.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (to be completed by employment start date).

  • Proficiency with computers and general software programs such as Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education after High school

  • Manufacturing experience

**Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong desire to use your creativity and skills to support, improve and develop novel manufacturing methods?**
Here in the Xerox Printhead Manufacturing group, we develop and build state-of-the-art industrial inkjet printheads for both internal and OEM customers. We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our diverse team of professionals.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting existing manufacturing processes and helping to develop new ones for our next generation printheads. You will work alongside other members of the engineering and operations staff to ensure that products are built to meet the performance, productivity and cost targets in a timely manner.
**As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will.**
**Quality:**
+ Use a continuous improvement mindset to optimize processes for maximum yield and increased productivity.
+ Use your problem-solving skills to resolve complicated printhead performance issues into actionable improvements to the manufacturing process.
+ Understand and use the tools of total quality, lean manufacturing, and design for manufacturability.
+ Support required ISO Protocols for both 9001 and 14001.
**Technical:**
+ Use your creativity and technical expertise to identify manufacturing methods that enable our next generation industrial printheads.
+ Acquire and apply knowledge necessary to meet product cost, yield, and performance targets.
+ Create and maintain effective process documentation.
**Communication and Leadership:**
+ Effectively communicate information to co-workers, customers, and leadership.
+ Serve as the technical expert for your process to the printhead organization.
+ Lead by example - demonstrating good decision-making skills, and a desire to learn.
**Qualifications:**
**Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing).
**Experience:**
+ 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably using lasers in a production environment.
+ Process capability, Gage R&R, and applied problem solving.
+ Knowledge of conductive films, adhesives, lamination, and adhesive curing processes a plus.
+ Surface preparation and cleaning experience is a plus.
+ Experience with Excimer, Diode-Pumped, and/or CO2 lasers is also a plus.
**Skills**
+ Proven problem-solving skills that demonstrate ability to identify, quantify, and resolve technical issues.
+ Great hands-on mechanical skills.
+ Ability to handle simultaneous tasks in an environment which can be stressful at times.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively - strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are desirable.
+ Ability to work both independently as well as provide effective technical support to project teams.
+ Strong computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

**Manufacturing Supervisor - Canby, OR (Third Shift)**

**What you will do**
As a Manufacturing Supervisor at our fully integrated Clarios plant in Canby, OR you will lead third-shift operations, supervising 15-20 unionized production team members across battery manufacturing lines. This overnight leadership role 11:00PM-08:00 AM comes with dedicated management support and on-call maintenance resources to ensure you have the tools needed for success. You'll be responsible for ensuring production targets are met, maintaining proper staffing levels, fostering strong employee relations, and upholding a safe, clean, and high-performing work environment. This role directly supports our commitment to quality, efficiency, and operational excellence. This is where leadership matters most, _the frontline_ . With 17 facilities across the United States there is plenty of opportunity to grow and develop into Area Manager, Superintendent, and Plant Manager level roles and more.
**How you will do it**
+ Train production team members to perform work assignments safely, efficiently, and in alignment with plant standards and union agreements
+ Build strong employee relationships through consistent coaching, fair application of company policies, and effective collaboration with union representatives
+ Manage shift staffing to meet production goals, and support cross-functional team operations as needed
+ Review team performance, facilitate improvement discussions, and align individual contributions with plant objectives
+ Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and housekeeping policies and procedures
+ Oversee machine and equipment maintenance coordination within your area, working with on-call maintenance support
+ Track and report key performance indicators including scrap, output per person/hour, and production efficiency metrics
+ Investigate material variances and recommend improvements
+ Encourage team-driven ideas for process, equipment, and quality enhancements
**What we look for**
_Required:_
+ Minimum of 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Proven ability to work effectively during overnight hours and manage third-shift operations
_Preferred:_
+ High-volume production experience in automotive, battery, or similar manufacturing industries
+ Experience working in a union environment and managing collective bargaining agreements
+ Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

**JOB SUMMARY:**
Manufacturing Production Supervisor will assist with managing various production activities on **3rd shift, 10:00pm - 6:00am** (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including: Planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources. Planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Individuals in these roles primarily focus on directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others, and mobilizing resources.
- Leaders typically manage two or more direct reports.
- Responsible for the monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for their area of responsibility.
- Responsible for people management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
- Progression within the levels reflects increase in scope and responsibilities as well as growth in business and industry experience, process and people leadership capabilities, and broad technical expertise. Coaches and address performance related issues following progressive discipline for safety, quality, performance, training and attendance.
- Supervises entry-level or semi-skilled hourly employees such as production, craft, and clerical workers.
- Coordinates resources and sets daily priorities for the team to ensure task completion and operational objectives are met.
- Requires understanding and application of established procedures and full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
- Monitors daily operations of a unit or sub-unit.

**SAFE QUALITY FOOD RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
+ Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
+ Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
+ Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
+ Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS:**
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or related work experience required in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in manufacturing or related environment
- Printing experience is a plus
- Experience working in folding cartons or packaging industry is a plus
- This position will be assigned to the 3rd shift, (10pm - 6am)
- Must be flexible to work all shifts, weekends (on a rotational basis), holidays, and overtime as needed
