Job Description Summary

As a member of the automation team this individual will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of assembly equipment to assist our fastener assembly group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the build and de-bug of assembly machinery and systems.
  • Able to align and setup vision inspection system.
  • Able to debug and setup PLC's, HMIs, and servos.
  • Repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic machine components.
  • Read and understand assembly and detail blueprints to build and modify machines.
  • Create minor components such as brackets and spacers from detail drawings.
  • Set pneumatic cylinder sensors for proper functionality.
  • Adjust cylinder travel when required to align machine motions.
  • Align and set sensors for proper function.
  • Maintain the department/ work area clean and organized.
  • Follow ISO/IATF, safety, and environmental procedures as well as department and corporate policies and procedures.
Authority
  • Authority to stop machine operation when quality or safety issues are observed or reported.
Job Knowledge; Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge in the design and troubleshooting of complex machine controls systems and programs.
  • Basic knowledge in PLC programming.
  • Basic knowledge on feeding and sorting bowls.
  • Know how to safely use power equipment.
  • Understand function of pneumatic valves and how to plumb tubing and adjust air flow settings.
  • Understand relationship of all machine sensors regarding the function of the machine.
  • Understand all assembly machine functions regarding debugging machine issues.
  • Understanding of machine and operator safety concerns in a production environment.
  • Basic understanding of vision sensors and systems helpful but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and diagrams.
  • Basic understanding of robot controls and mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment (tape measure, calipers).
  • Ability to understand machine based mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues and correct them.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and safely use drill press and band saws.
  • Able to complete work orders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and Training
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in mechanics and electronics helpful but not required.
  • Forklift operational training helpful but not required.
Tools and Equipment
  • Power and basic hand tools including wrenches and screw drivers.
  • Understanding of electronic measuring devises (voltmeter, comparator) desired but not necessary.
  • Steel toed shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs are required at all times.

Organization Overview:
The Filling Operations Teams are an essential part of Lilly's Kenosha County (LKC) Parenteral Manufacturing site. We manufacture and fill injectable parenteral products in state-of-the-art facilities to supply patients around the world. This position will work in a new facility with best in class, globally replicated production equipment. Operations team members will work with the latest industry technologies, while learning from global teams, to manufacture key current parenteral products and preparing for upcoming products.
This role will be responsible for direct line supervision of operators, providing administrative leadership to filling operations team members, and developing technical expertise of employees. The leader will also assure quality behavior in the area and suggest technical improvements for delivery and operation of the areas. This specific role will support PFS11, delivering new pre-filled syringe filling capacity to IPM.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
+ Ensure strict compliance with established policies/procedures (Safety, Production Procedures, Sanitization, Gowning, Etc.), ensure operators are trained appropriately.
+ Take ownership for implementation of countermeasures associated with audits, observations, inspection findings, and deviations.
+ Participate in planning of equipment prep, formulation and filling operations. Network with various areas to verify components and equipment are available for orders.
+ Identify/escalate issues to the Manager / Associate Director (if applicable).
+ Responsible for the coaching, development and performance evaluation of Operations personnel.
+ Act as both administrator and technical leader for operations, setting a good example through demonstrated knowledge of procedures, compliance with quality systems and use of proper technique.
+ Responsible for shop floor execution as it relates to business plan, GMP conformance, and OSSCE.
+ Ensure adherence to use of proper technique in isolator and Grade C operational areas.

What You'll Do

As the Booster Manufacturing Operator, you will efficiently set-up, fill, inspect and package all Cast Booster products. The operator will assure safe and timely processing of PETN to supply the demand of booster operations with respect to plant and site specific safety rules and quality standards. Other duties will include:

  • Manufacture a quality Booster product
  • Responsible for properly stocking manufacturing areas and preparing product for shipping.
  • Set up canisters on specific tooling, pouring hot pentolite into canisters and moving carts into cooling tunnels.
  • Melt down process of transferring melted TNT/Triton from the pre melter into main pots. Will be required to add PETN to main pots per specific formulations, and monitoring the process per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Will be loading empty plastic or corrugated canisters onto pallets.
  • Will be cleaning and packing finished product into corrugated boxes for shipping. Stamping Canisters will be required
  • Must drive a van/box truck to transport product, prepare, operate and unload centrifuge.
  • Must complete proper documentation and balances while maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Promote implementation of industry best practices, pursue the elimination of waste and support initiatives in manufacturing.
  • Focus on improving safety and quality and minimize the impact to current production
  • Actively participate in a partnership with Maintenance to problem solve safety issues and improve machine up time.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred - on the job training is provided
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively verbally
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, bend and walk through the entire shift. Must be capable of lifting up to 58 lbs. and push/pull 83 lbs.
  • Ability to wear and care for applicable personal protective equipment (such as, safety glasses and shoes, respirator, face shield, Tyvec, sleeves, gloves, coveralls, safety harness) as required by site specific requirements

Reporting to the manager the potential candidate would assist with repair concerns required on molds. Assist new tooling build through the various shop departments, with mold being set up in the press

What a typical day looks like:

  • Plan sequence of operations for mold construction,
  • Read blueprints of the mold and plastic piece part and verify specifications
  • Detail all additional work authorized by Tririga system
  • Maintenance of the tool room equipment
  • Layout, machine, fit, assemble and finish metal parts to make and repair injection molds
  • Maintain a "Learning" attitude towards employees in department
  • Responsible for Quality of work; Maintain ongoing inspection of work pieces
  • Fit all mold components and verify proper too function

Job Description

As a Manufacturing Technician II, you will implement all processes in production while strictly following cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any applicable related regulations. You will have technical and administrative competence to organize and lead production activities. You will participate in both departmental projects and any quality working teams which may be applicable. Responsibilities include assisting with the movement of Flexbumin between the different stages of inspection to packaging within the value stream. In this role, you may act as line lead, and will ensure the line operates smoothly and keeps up with daily goals. In addition, you will document your process activities on routers or in the electronic batch management system (EBM). You will report to the Supervisor, Manufacturing. The role supports Takeda's mission by ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes.

How you will contribute:
  • Maintain a safe and quality working environment
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Support manufacturing operations.
  • Lead Manufacturing Technicians I in daily tasks.
  • Operate general production equipment (such as Downstream Automated Packaging lines, forklifts, and hoists).
  • Move pallets to different rooms within the value stream.
  • Communicate and work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Receive and distribute supplies into the production area.
  • Follow cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines, and any other regulations.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and electronic system prompts/tasks, following GDP/GMP guidelines.
  • Perform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain in GMP fashion.
  • Train new and existing employees/contractors on procedures.
  • Communicate issues related to safety, quality, compliance and equipment to the manufacturing lead operator and supervisor.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to enable team success and contribute toward professional development.

  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions of the facility.
  • Must be able to carry up to 30lbs, lift up to 30lbs, push/pull up to 30lbs (with assistance of material handling equipment).
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an extended period over a 12-hour shift between rooms and across the site.
  • May require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and/or squatting motions to perform certain tasks.
  • Repetitive motions with hands, wrists, turning head, bending at knees and waist.
  • Must be able to walk within and between quality rooms and packaging rooms, as well as throughout the entire plant.
