This role supports manufacturing functions for Commercial HVAC products at Trane's Fort Smith, Arkansas facility. The Manufacturing Engineer I will assist with complex technical issues and finding rapid solutions. They will support lean activities and process improvements through the planning, facilitation, and implementation of projects in alignment with strategic goals and metrics for plant safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The Manufacturing Engineer I is also responsible for the implementation and validation of new equipment and processes throughout the business to improve plant performance using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology

**What you will do:**
+ Project Capital planning, Business Case creation
+ Assists in managing 5-Gate projects including Business Case, Capital, Expense, and resources to assure milestones are met timely and within the approved budget and resource plan
+ Drives productivity and business growth through problem solving, coaching, and training
+ Conduct tests or trials of tools, equipment, and processes
+ Create and update Standard Work Charts, JBSs, Work Instructions, PFMEAs
+ Evaluate production capacities

- Participation on Structured Kaizen Events
- Standardized Work Improvements Across Multiple manufacturing lines
- Operator Station Layout development and Implementation
- Part Presentation Flow Rack Design and Implementation
- Provide support in problem solving activities (JDI, Quick Hit teams, PAB issues, etc.)
- Participate and develop line balances for new product designs and/or potential line rate changes
- Participate and develop manifest systems for single cell areas and potentially full manufacturing line
- Construct Time Studies on existing product

**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**
CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. $119,829
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$209,726
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
**Work Location Options:**
Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
