**Your Responsibilities**
As an **OFP Manufacturing Engineer** for **JD Engine Works** located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
+ Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers, and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks
+ Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) teams
+ Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause for quality problems, gather/analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim
+ Use quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for both internal and external manufactured parts and assemblies
+ Execute John Deere Quality Control Plan where implemented

**What Skills You Need**
+ 1+ years of demonstrated factory support and manufacturing engineering knowledge (routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, capacity plans/line design, methods documentation, maintenance, quality plans and labor standards, troubleshooting, etc.)

The MIG Welder will join, fabricate, and repair steel parts by using specialized gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment. Duties and responsibilities include joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols. May prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot. This is a 2nd shift position, training will take place on 1st shift for 4-8 weeks. There is a $1.50/shift premium, this starts while training on 1st shift. 2nd shift hours are Monday thru Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am. Overtime is posted the Wednesday prior to the week it is worked.
Skills and qualifications include the ability to operate forklift and crane. Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints. Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander. Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer. Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa. Ability to convert metric to english and vice versa. Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift. Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist and stoop for long periods of time. Ability to walk 205 miles throughout the course of a shift. Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses. Job Summary A Press Brake Operator will set up and operate CNC Press Brakes to form/bend/flatten various types of metal parts to customer print specifications. Duties & Responsibilities
+ Commitment to workplace safety.
+ Set up and operate CNC Press Brakes including adjustment and/or replacement of tooling, guides and fixtures. Use multiple vices and work offsets.
+ Review work order and specifications to determine set up procedure, machining sequence and dimensions of finished workpiece.
+ Remove burrs and stage parts prior to forming.
+ Read and interpret provided prints and customer specifications.
+ Download program file to machine controller.
+ Perform inspection processes.
+ Observe/listen to machine to detect malfunctions.
+ Records information in manufacturing software.

Shifts

Physical Requirements

We use fiber and CO2 lasers to cut metal, robotic press brake and robotic welding capabilities. **Your Responsibilities**
As a **Part-Time Student-Assembly Manufacturing Engineer** for **John Deere Waterloo Works** located in **Waterloo, IA** , you will.
+ Supporting efforts to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to processes, machinery, and quality.
+ Participate in the continuous improvement process (CI200) through the execution of projects in safety & ergonomics, customer and process quality, efficiency, and cost while under the supervision of another ME or ME Supervisor
+ Conduct process audits and ensure sequence of events documentation and operator methods sheets reflect the current method of manufacture.
+ Maintain routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations which enable the Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP).
+ Participate in team studies related to capacity, productivity and efficiency.
**This position is not available to students on immigration visas.**
**What Skills You Need**
+ Ideally you will be majoring in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related technical field; others may apply.
+ Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
+ Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
+ Available to work 16-20 hours/weekly during the academic year.
+ Available to work 30-40 hours/weekly during the summer semester.
+ Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a daily basis year-round.
+ Demonstrated ability to solve problems utilizing data and root cause analysis techniques.
+ Experience in roles that require excellent communication skills.
+ Experience with engineering tools such as ProE, Auto CAD, and Microsoft Office Programs, either through employment or educational coursework.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform self-directed learning activities.
**What Makes You Stand Out**
+ Experience in roles that required a basic understanding of Industrial Engineering principles (education or equivalent work experiences).
+ Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of written and graphical work instructions, assembly manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly process equipment or machinery.
+ Shop floor manufacturing related work experience.
+ Six Sigma training.
+ Strong communications skills
